Those were the days before we would all log into the internet and play armchair developer. A combination of the games being good, gamers not being whiners, and the gaming media not being such douchebags.
I renewed my subscription to Computer Gaming World so often, I eventually had several years already paid for. They just kept sending offers, and I'd send them a check. They decided to not provide the disk to subscribers anymore. The disks were epic, and the review articles made sense, but they had to transition into DVD and it wasn't affordable...and more people were ripping off the news stand disk out of the packaging than those actually buying one. The online downloads for subscribers sucked. I got them to send me a check for several years worth of cancelled subscription, and it wasn't long before Ziff Davis shut them down.

But real goldmine of hidden stuff is XCOM:Apocalypse where almost half of the game didn't made it to retail.

If so, you'll know when it hits you.
The only reason we knew of TDWCM in advance was that the achievements were leaked months earlier. This was probably an accident. There was no announcement almost until it was shipping - I checked the forum for news every day for a long time, and eventually gave up. A few days later it was announced and I missed it by weeks! I seem to remember some conjecture that three DLC were originally planned, and some other indications that 2 and 3 eventually got combined. These put together suggest we have seen it all now, but none of it has been officially confirmed as far as I know. |

![]() ---------- Post added at 12:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:57 PM ---------- Yeah, from what i remember reading it was 2 Mulitplayer map packs and 1 single player DLC planned, so if the guys at Gearbox have combined packs 2 and 3 into one release then that is very generous of them! Can't imagine those bastiches over at Activision doing the same thing! |

You know what, guys? It's been four months since the last DNF DLC was released, so i think it is more than reasonably safe to say that there isn't going to be any more.
Best of luck to the Triptych guys on whatever projects are now taking up thier time, and to Gearbox for rescuing The Duke! Thank you Sirs!
