My game has recently started to completely overload my processor. It happens after about 6-7 minutes of gameplay. Then the framrate drops to slide show levels and then the game inevitably crashes. My computer isn't the greatest but I've been able to play Borderlands fine before.

it's that problem?

go to program files/..../borderlands/Binaries

in there, delete nvcpl.dll &/or nvcp.dll

it's cuz of the zed patch + steam
since the BL steam update for the stat tracking, the zed patch no longer worked with the steam version, said nvcpl file kept locking up the game after some time

deleting it would fix it, many ppl had the issue and everybody thought it was the update while it in fact was the zed patch ^^

HEY, Im totally starting to get PO'd. Im playing on a Macbook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3. and I'm getting a peculiar issue, and i can't seem to find an answer anywhere on this forum, this post or google completely. The game runs perfectly, doesn't lag or crash, runs smooth as butter, HOWEVER, when it gets to the first New-U station, and i press X (on ps3 controller) or E it doesn't open the menu. the game continues as if it did, it just flashes up and then vanishes. continuing from here, when i get to the first few missions and repair the med vendor i can't open that either! same thing! it flashes and vanishes in the blink of an eye. and THEN i realised i can't open my status menu, on either the ps3 controller or the mac option! frustrating to say the least because the game runs like clockwork at the highest settings otherwise!! any help anyone???? would be a wicked help!! thanks! Just to elaborate on my previous post, sorry, Im playing the GOTY edition downloaded from the Mac app store.

could you try temporary using a a keyboard to see if it works?

it might be that the PS3 button isn't set to toggle the action, just a thought

how did u get ur PS3 controller to work with mac goty anyway? o_O

Sounds like you have the 'use' button bound to the back/escape button.

Apple-Guy might be of more help as he knows macs better than me....wait a while and he'll probably appear when he gets off work.

the ps3 controllers have a bluetooth function that you can connect to a macbook. you just turn on bluetooth, plug it into your mac with your mini usb cable, leave it for a few seconds, unplug it and it SHOULD pair to your bluetooth on your mac automatically, sometimes it asked for a passcode, which is where it gets to be a pain in the behind, but macs, and macbook pros (may be other macs but i cudnt say for def) have a native support for ps3 controllers

AND i THINK you can do the same with xbox controls but i dud have no idea how!!

however as for my issue, i have no idea why it doesn't work

ty for the info tho, didn't knwo the controllers were plug & play

and yes, what gt said might be in affect, go for a reset bindings to default (without the controller for now) and see if you still experience it
