Claptrap and Psycho Bandit Action Figure Review

Figures.com has posted their advance review of the Claptrap and Psycho Bandit action figures, complete with over 80 pictures!

The first thing that'll strike you is the phenomenal paint deco on the pair. These figures perfectly capture the cartoony cell shading of Borderlands to a tee. Cartoon figures are nothing new, but usually they are defined by a softer sculpt, not via paint work alone. Sculpt does play a hand in making these figures look as if they stepped out of the game though, a good example being the knife attached to Psycho Bandit's side.

Got them both today. So cheap and shoddy. Claptrap already had a piece broken off when I took him out of the package. Afraid to touch them as they might shatter. Was not worth the wait.

What was the issue with your clap trap? what piece was broken for you?

I can share your pain. I pre-ordered my claptrap so long ago that i cant even remember how long ago it actually was. I finally got a chance to sit down this morning and remove the claptrap from packaging today after being on the road for the past month working my job. I was disappointed to see that the Tire area was never installed correctly. I am afraid to pop it back in due to how fragile the claptrap is. As much as i love the borderlands franchise since i first heard about the project it has caused it to be my second moment of sadness for me this year revolving around borderlands.

First - I lost out on my chance to get a Ultimate loot chest edition of borderlands 2 due to the fact that there was a short window where it was officially announced to be sold to the point it was also sold out days later. Despite having pre-ordered borderland 2 at gamestop and calling on a regular basis to find out if there was a collectors edition i missed out on the window due to traveling for my new job. I am heart broken about this one in particular just because i have always wanted to build a desktop case modeling the Red Chest and now having lost my chance to actually own one created by gearbox.

Second - Is this issue with the claptrap figure being broken (i have attached pictures from each side so that you can see what it should look like and what it looks like.)

Last thing i want to say before ending this reply is despite my misfortune i have not let my experiences really tarnish my love for borderlands or gearbox. I respect the work that they put into to create these great experience i have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy going forward. Also my daughter was born on the release date of Duke Nukem Forever. At this point i have a permanent connection to Gearbox history lol. I attached a picture that i sent to gearbox a little over a year ago but was never sure they actually got it since i never heard anything back. Ah well.

I dont believe they were limited. Check your local Toys R Us, Spin. They were sold there.

i found them on ebay a couple months back im in the uk.
got both claptrap an the bandit. ive kept them in the packaging tho.
