In an article i read, it says that players of the first Borderlands will unlock a new head/costume...
My question is; Does this only happen if they have completed the game? Thanks. |

From what I've read, it just said if you have played it. I don't think there is any way for them to find out if you have or haven't beaten the game, besides looking at your achievements/trophies. Which I would be all for personally. Trials Evolution did something like that, where you got a cool shirt and bike if you got a couple difficult to get achievements in Trials HD.
Definitely gives those additions much more worth to the player, knowing they actually earned the items to a degree, and not every average Joe that played the game once in their life has it.

May be a horrible example but I believe the "Lego Star Wars" games looked at game progress for some unlockables. Not sure how far.

Stuff unlocking due to what achievements/trophies you have IS possible. It'd be nice if it was due to completing the game but I think most of us are expecting you to have just played it. Eg; a save file. I'll have it unlocked either way

I would have thought they would have gone for something more exclusive too, given the majority of BL2 Buyers would most definitely have played the first game a fair bit.

I gotta admit I also had a similar question in which if we buy bl2 retail (cause I want one of the collector's editions) but bought BL1 on Steam if it would still recognize we played it. Or if BL2 would just be activated on steam anyway because of the Steamworks deal and it would detect it that way.

Save files are in the same place with Steam as Retail so you'll be fine.

it would be awesome if they do look at your trophy/achievements and if you had completed all or most then they gave them something special for ingame

its assumed its the original 4 vault hunters skins and heads. and it will probably just look for a save file or achievments.

if you watch the panel video, the outline of the character included does not have the physic nor hairstyle of any of the four original vault hunters. My money is on Scooter.
