Default Failed to join match

when trying to connect to my friends game, it says that I have

"You are playing a different patch version than the other player(s).
Please ensure that all players have the same patch versions and
try again."

I have the exact same version that my friends have, and I have also bought the mechromancer DLC, why can't i connect?

Same problem here.
We tried some settings, but it wasn't successful to play co-op.
It worked before the recent patch 1.1.1

We have the following constellation:

VPN Network via FritzBox ( to play coop )
All of us have the pre-ordered version + season pass for DLCs

Host 1 ---- VPN ---- ( Host 2 , Host 3 ) LAN

- Host 1 has the error "patch level not the same" when connecting to Host2,3 (10.x.x.x VPN Subnet )
- Host 2,3 have the error "patch level not the same" when connecting to Host 1
- Host 2,3 are able to play coop in LAN (physical in same Subnet, 192.168.x.x )
- Coop game is possible when playing via steam, but laggy (common error)

- Host 1 had no season pass, bought it , but no effect, still "patch level mismatch"

- Tried steam check files, 1 error file, rebuild, no change effect.
- Tried to open new game, new character, no effect.

When connecting to a game, its loading very long ( checking update status ), maybe a problem for this?

Seems to be a new bug with the latest patch for LAN Coopgames.

My friends and I had the same Problem. I was told that the PC version did not need the compatibility patch so My friends turned on auto update and let steam update there versions, Now there is no problem with connections.

Having exactly the same issue since the 1.0.9 patch (or rather, the 1.1.0 patch which was bugged - when the Mechromancer was released). No LAN co-op play whatsoever, tried these scenarios:

1) All users on steam, all set to LAN. Host creates game, the guests use the "Find Games" interface - no games are ever found. Worked perfectly before the patching fiasco.

2) All users on steam, host creates a game with network set to LAN. Guest users create shortcuts with the IPv4 address of the host appended to the binary. The game starts via launcher and then complains about patch versions being inconsistent (is this still a valid means of direct connect?).

Have tried a number of desperate fixes: all firewalls off, checking no restrictions on UDP (using Torchlight 2 and not having any issues with the matchmaking service), explicitly allowing the BL2 binaries complete access, running as Administrator, etc. Nothing. Works.

Is there any public information concerning this problem, any information from 2K or GearBox? Out of an office full of people who play this game, not one of us can now run LAN and furthermore the Steam matchmaking connection is unplayable.

If anyone knows of a way to fix this, I would be greatly obliged to hear from you.

For me, it sounds like (either intentionally or as a byproduct of other actions) they broke the game's means for multiplayer that aren't through a physical LAN or Steam online.

P.S.: If you meant that you are getting this error when trying to join an game online, via Steam, then I apologize for my confusion (it was not explicitly said on the thread as far as I got to see).

I just played, LAN mode, 1.2.2 PC, via Hamachi.

Two different co-op partners in two different games (one <50 ms trip away, one > 100 ms).

No issues: Game showed up in match browser, connected, played.

Edit: In fact, I note it was precisely answered in the other thread you posted in among the myriad you cross-posted in.

If you can't figure out how to configure a network, find someone who can.

Perhaps the Hamachi (or insert VPN here) forum would be a better place for hand-holding instructions. As already stated by GBX, they do not support such mechanisms, so you'll not get any further assistance from them.

Bumping threads is bad form, and usually against the rules. Please stop it. It puts threads that have no interest above those that do.
