Gate by the Activate Bridge location in Knoxx...w/ Pics

Anyone notice when you activate the energy bridge to Road's End, the gate door that that leads out to the catwalk that runs along the rock, opens? I've gone out on the catwalk, and tried to jump down the pipe that leads to the giant door below it, but I keep falling off. Is there anything down there or is it just a dead end?

Go to the station in Deep Fathom's where you have to active the energy bridge that leads to Road's End.

When you are walking across the long metal bridge that spans the canyon, look on the left hand side when you first reach the other side where the switch is. There is a catwalk what runs across the rock wall to the left. At the end of the walkway, there is a pipe that goes down into canyon. Near the end of the pipe is a large metal door. You are unable to get to the walkway, prior to activating the switch that creates the red energy bridge. Once you activate the bridge, the door to the gate drops and you can then walk out onto the walkway.

That door by the pipe opened for you? Must be activated by activating the bridge and then deactivated/closed by some other quest point later.. I'm way beyond that but went back out to check.. it's closed.

Maybe a quest activated/deactived door to a hidden area, like the door to the "Christmas Story" room in New Haven?

No, the gate door that leads to the walkway opened for me, not the large door near the pipe. I'm trying to find out if there is a reason for the gate door opening after you activate the bridge.
