Default Skyline's Anime Blog - Summer '10

I think that there should be a thread to discuss anime specifically, so I'll just make it right here.

I set myself a very hefty goal for this summer, considering I didn't need to go to summer school nor did I feel like going to one, for how much anime I watch over the summer. I told this on the Gun Vault forums during a previous meeting for the BLWF thread and one person should remember it if he reads this thread.

I'm planning to watch 2 weeks, or 14 days, of anime before the summer ends. And no, that's not 14 days of anime without gaming, I mean 14 full days. If you want me to put that into perspective, every 5 episodes, on average, is 2 hours so 60 episodes is a full day times that by 2 weeks and you get about 840 episodes of anime I want to watch.

If you want to follow me, you can use this or just read this thread as I'll post about the anime I watch on a day to day basis. *I don't update the link as often as I should.*

-------------------------

My habit for every new season is that I usually pick up 5 or 6 shows per season, some that I get interested by or others because they sound familiar to previous anime I've watch.

*Edit* If the anime is a sequel, the title itself will be the first season followed by the specific season in its additional naming.

So my new anime weekly schedule is looking like this at the moment:
Non-Weekly:

Anime Completed During This Season:

Completed Anime Left to Watch on my HD:

------------------------

So I decided that this goal was to start instantly after my summer break began to the moment it ended, which gives me about 2 months and a week, possibly a few days more.

I'm just going to blah on some stuff that I watched before this last weekend and all:

*First Episode Watched*
  • Angel Beats! - Episode 13 - Overall, I did enjoy this anime a lot, granted because I'm a bit of a sucker to Key. Maybe because its the fantasy element, or the insert songs I enjoyed a lot, there's only one or two overall that I didn't enjoy listening to, but it just seemed to work. Obviously, since being a sucker, I did give it a 10 but the main problem was that it could of definitely gone on longer. Most "Drama" animes shouldn't be restricted to such a short time-frame, much how like I disliked Air, another drama anime, due to the random jumping towards the end, which pretty much made me confused as heck though it did a much better job of episode management than Air.

*Series that were completed / Wrapped up*
  • Seto no Hanayome - Wow.. I waited so long for the last two episodes from a certain sub group before I gave up and watched sub-par subs. Based off of my memory though, this anime officially is rated highest on my "Laughs per Minute" Ratio, which is about 7:1 if you average out all of the episodes. I almost came close to falling out of my chair a few times, and probably did so a few other times.
  • Trigun - I think this is actually the first anime I watched that was before the year 2000, "Hatin' on the old stuff I see Skyline.." "Yea yea..". Badass overall due to its action sequences, which there were plenty throughout the series. The final episode did seem a bit anti-climatic at the end but I somewhat expected it considering how the main chunk of the episode was all one battle.
  • Nodame Cantabile *Season 1* - ....Why didn't I watch this sooner is what I'm asking myself. I pretty much loved it from start to finish. I wish I had more to say but I'm still watching Paris Chapter, followed by Finale, which will basically sum up the experience then I have to talk about it. Oh, and I finished it in just under 24 hours, I slept too much.

There's probably other anime I'm missing, which I'll talk about when I remember it.

------------------------

So now, I ask, you guys have any anime I should be watching? I'll gladly look into each anime and its background followed by putting it on the "To Watch" list before summer ends. I don't have an exact type of anime I stick towards to, such as I don't mind English Music all that much despite listening to J-Pop all the time, so feel free to post whatever.

So that's it. I hope I can reach my goal and you guys can watch me attempt to.

Nice that you started the thread. I will follow (as much as I can anyway) but will have no idea what's going on. Like I've told you before, I've never watched a single anime. So even right now, after reading the OP, I'm completely lost.

I've honestly seen ............ pretty much none of them ones Trigun, Brotherhood, and a few episodes of Darker than Black.

Didn't they have FMA - Brotherhood subed on it's own website at first? I recall watching the first episode online well before it was on TV and such. Haven't check'd there in forever.
