Hi, i need some help installing borderlands DLC's. i purchased the goty edition through steam and have been lost as to how to install the dlcs. when i open the installer and type my CD Key in it says that is it invalid.
also, im not even sure how to open the installer for any of the DLC's (it opened when i tried to travel to jakobs cove). I really dont understand why the whole thing has to be so damn complicated... if anyone can help it would be great, thanks. |

You should have 2 or 3 CD keys, make sure you try all of them. It's easier if you run the DLC installations manually rather than dealing with the alt-tab nonsense. You can find the installers in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\borderlands\Binaries\ DLCSetup and C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\borderlands\Binaries\ DLCSetup2 (adjust for your system if needed).
Your CD keys should be viewed by right-clicking on the title in your Steam library and clicking "View Steam CD Key". You should have 2 or 3 CD keys there, for DLC 1, DLC 2, and maybe one for the DNF first access club if you purchased early enough.

Do you not have those folders I mentioned, or are the folders there but with no setup files inside them? Be as specific as you can as to what you tried and what the system response was.

omg... for some reason i cant even launch borderlands now it says:
"A requiired security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (3000)." i swear this is ******* bullshit, i didnt pay 30$ to spend all my time sorting out ******* one problem after another. btw i used to urls C:\program files etc and they were invalid. ive tried looking for them before and couldn't find them. **** steam and **** gearbox |

You just blamed the two companies that have little to nothing to do with your problem. Your problem is with Sony's SecuROM DRM, which is completely separate from Steam. The publisher (2k) determines which DRM to use, not the developer (Gearbox.) So what you mean is **** Sony and **** 2K.
For what it's worth, I agree that the DRM situation with those first two DLCs is inexcusable. People have been complaining about it forever, and 2K is clearly not interested in fixing the problem. If you've got the game, those files are there, you're just obviously not finding them. I'm not sure how somebody who can't navigate the file system gets into PC gaming, but whatever. Tell me where on this list of steps you get stuck: 1. Go to the start menu 2. Click "Computer" 3. Double-Click your "C" drive 4. If you have a 32-bit OS, double click your "Program Files" folder. If you have a 64-bit OS, double click your "Program Files (x86)" folder. 5. Double click the "Steam" Folder 6. Double click the "steamapps" folder 7. Double click the "common" folder 8. Double click the "Borderlands" folder 9. Double click the "Binaries" folder 10. Double click the "DLCSetup" folder 11. Double click the file named "DLCSetup.exe"

Excuse me Jared for not knowing what you mean by ****Sony. I didn't know they had anything to do with the p.c. version or DRM on a p.c. game. Explain please as i'm a noob on the subject.
