I preordered the game for PS3 and got the FAC code. When the demo came out, I was SUPER HYPED. But when I actually played the demo, I was one of those people who raged and canceled my preorder. The weeks passed as the release date approached. I wasn't sure if I would regret canceling my preorder.
Release date came, and my friend offered to let me play it on PS3 because he bought it. He said the game sucked but he knew I grew up playing DN3D, so he wanted me to play it because he was surprised I didn't buy it at launch. Got up to part of the Duke Dome, then I quit. I hated the whole game. It felt like crap, and everything just sucked. It didn't feel right, load times were crazy long every time I died. A few weeks ago I saw a third party seller on Amazon selling the game for $20. I ordered it and started playing it on thursday. But the only thing different was it was on PC. MY GOD, the game on PC is amazing. The game didn't feel slugish, and it looked and loaded much better than the PS3 counterpart. I was so amazed with the game that I'd rather go online and rave about the PC version than finish the final battle [which I will do as soon as I submit this post]. Just wanted to spread the word that in this case, PC version is superior. And DNF is actually amazing. [Not the PS3 version IMO. Balls of fail on the Console ports]. But I will buy the game for PS3 because I already have a friend that plays online on PS3. |

Well done, welcome to the superior race!
More people should play the PC version. |

I played the PC version, and no matter how much I adjusted the mouse settings, it did not feel right. I might have been able to get past the Halo health system and two weapon limit had the controls not been so sluggish and horrible.
I never re-ordered. Played on a friend's PC, who by the way, hated the game and regretted buying it. |

nice to hear that.
gearbox/2k released for consoles to earn some good cash but they knew themselves that the ports didn't end up good. Despite console limitations, the game could have looked way better on both plataforms. but glad PC version is awesome as expected, its all that matters

Played the demo on PC and it's vastly superior. Didn't feel like shelling out more cash after already buying the 360 version though, so I muddled through the crappy port.
Still an awesome game. Last edited by TTS; July 10th, 2011 at 07:40 PM. |

It takes a lot for me to justify paying a lot for any PC game. There's always a deal for the same right around the corner, and I can put the money I save towards my next video card or something.

While I believed that the game could have been better for consoles, I bet that it would take more time to release a better port of the game. The publisher probably got really antsy when they thought they were going to delay it AGAIN. Well theres always Duke Nukem 5.
