In the IGN Rewind Theater they say that the Commando is more turret focused than Roland was, and even has an ability that allows him to teleport his turret onto the battlefield longbow style.
On topic though, I wasn't sure at first how great phaselocking would be compared to other abilities, but this article has made me realize how awesome it is! I can't wait to phaselock a group of bandits and come in screaming with a high-rof shotgun!

Think it was mentioned in the IGN rewind video but they said it again in the article; they'll be less reliance on each class using a particular type of weapon (roland = rifles, brick = rockets etc) so people use a more bigger variety of weapons. Each class I'm guessing would still get bonuses but not nearly as big as in BL1.
Sounds cool and hopefully will tie in with having a more variety of bigger, better weapons as you level up rather than sticking to a few types throughout the whole game. Will miss the Defiler and Hellfire though. |

Hmm, there was one bit in there I really didn't like, and that was that the skill trees don't specialize weapon classes. I loved having a Soldier for CRs and ARs, a Siren for SMGs, a Hunter for Snipers and Pistols, and a Brick for, well I never really liked Brick...
But I would have enjoyed having that same mechanic mainly because I loved infinite ammo COMS. Mercenary, Rifleman, Gunslinger all at 660 mat3. Can someone at GBX answer this: are there going to be Class Mods that grant regenerating ammo? Or items similar to COMs?

Cool, great to hear that phaselock resets if you don't get a hit with it. Really looking forward to an article on the assassin.
