I was playing with my friends maybe an hour ago and then steam suddenly lost connection. All my friends had the same issue. Once steam got itself back online i suddenly can't connect to ANYONE on Borderlands 2 and i cant even see public games or anything, though i can connect to the game and m internet is running fine.

Something has happened since steam went down and then came back up.
Some of my friends can connect to each other and some cant. Extremely aggravating

Same issue as Intestine, four of us messed around with firewalls and port forwarding for an hour and gave up. Can't view public games, can't quick match, can't join or be joined by friends, etc.

One of my friends is having this issue, and we're all on different subnets. I'm on 2.x, another is 1.x and the third is 0.x. The friend who is having the issue is on 0.x. He can't connect to anyone (including quick match or browser). It was working fine for him earlier, though. When we tried again this afternoon, it wouldn't work.

I connected directly to my modem and did all the other stuff Valve suggested, and I was able to host games and invite people to my games.

However I could not join their game if they hosted.

I have not tried to host a public game but Using the match browser I am only able to find 1-4 games. I was able to join one of those games and then invite two other of my friends to the game. This was all done after doing all the suggested things.

I was able to see those 1-4 games before I did anything and I was able to join one of those games and then invite people.

As of now, I have to be the host if I want to play with my friends.

Just got mine working.

Both sides had to enable port triggering on their routers for 7777-7778, and 28900-28910. TCP and UDP.

If following the steps above doesn't resolve your issue, please respond with the following details:

Have you disabled any software firewalls that may be preventing other players from joining?
Is your anti-virus or other programs rejecting connections?
Are you on one of the networks that has Steam issues (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...-EUDN-2493#isp)?
Can you connect to others through invites/player list?
Can other connect to you through invites/player lists?
Can players connect to you when you are hosting a public game?
Can you connect to other players through quick match or match browser?
Hey Chris,
I'll try to give you as much information I can, and I'll update when I get more.
As for the Steamworks troubleshooting, most of the stuff on that webpage is either impossible or inapplicable for me.
To answer your questions:
-I have disabled both Windows Firewall as well as my Anti-virus' own.
-I opened up all the Steam ports in my anti-virus' settings, and have it set to minimum protection (the lowest it can go).
-I am NOT on any of those ISP's, I use Comcast.
-I have attempted to join at least four different friends, none of which have worked. A couple of those have tried inviting me and vise-versa, also didn't work.
-As far as I'm aware, no one can connect to me.
-Have not tried hosting a public game.
-One of my friends and I were able to connect to a public quick match.

I'm almost positive this is a Steamworks problem moreso than a BL2 one. My friends and I have had this same exact problem with Trine 2 which uses the same system.
