Slag damage relic how does it work?

Does it increase the damage of a slagging bullet or the damage you can do using other elements/etc on a slagged enemy?

Disclaimer: I do not know if the relic boosts damage from axtons "double up" slag turret, or gaige's slagsplosion talent in little big trouble. I just know that it works on slag weapons.

EDIT: Most likely usefull to get a relic that does another elements damage increase or a flat weapon damage upgrade so you can get more damage from hitting the slagged enemy. The only time I ever use a slag relic is when I play a maya built for support (high into motion for increase to phaselock timer, cooldown, ability to move between targets but no mind control, and a bit into harmony for healing orbs, res, and health regen for party) because I run with 3 slag weapons of different weapon classes (typically shotgun, smg, and sniper) to slag everything up for my teammates and play a supporting role (with no "on kill" talents).

Not only the slagging rounds?(As in the rounds who got the chance to slag the enemy)

I thought that slag relics also increased the amount of additional damage your enemies take from being slagged by you. Is this correct?

It gives a bonus to the damage that the slag munition does to the target. It doesn't increase the chance to apply slag and slag itself doesn't do any damage so you would be better off using a relic for a different element if you wanted to do more damage to a slagged target.

The easiest way to test the relic is to try a slag weapon on the test dummy in Marcus' shooting range with and without the relic equipped.

Has anyone confirmed if this is the case or not? It would seem like a waste if it only boosted normal damage of slagging weapons, as you might as well just use a normal damage relic, making a slag damage one totally worthless.

What Apsalus said. Slag Elemental relics only increase the damage your slag guns do, but they won't increase the damage done to slagged targets. Not necessarily a bad idea if you're playing coop and are spending all of your time slagging targets for teammates, and the fact that slag-on-slag does some bonus damage in UVHM makes it a little more worthwhile as well. Ultimately, though, it doesn't do much for you when playing alone.

I could see myself going with an all-slag Gaige with Make It Sparkle Deathtrap and some of her shock-based skills, maybe. It's likely that a slag Elemental relic increases the damage of her bonus damage from Interspersed Outburst as well, so that's kind of neat. But in general, I just can't think of a reason why I would want to use one.
