Corrupted save

I bought the season pass yesterday so today I downloaded the DLC and my lvl 40 assasin has been corrupted. On the loading screen it changed from

Zer0 Lvl40 Assassin
Corrupted! Lvl0 Corrupted!

It's gone.

I had a lvl 50 assassin, have the season pass and was playing the new dlc. I go to log back on and that character is missing, leaving only my lvl 14 commando, which i dont really want to play; nor the game in general if i can't recover my assassin.

There is a file called "graveyard.sav" in my storage. What's up with this?

Corrupted or deleted by Gearbox? The verbiage "graveyard" sounds like a programmer joke, as files just don't change their names like that when they're corrupted.

Sorry for barging in, but didn't feel the need to create a new thread.

Anyway.. Played online for the first time today. Was going good, for a while, then eventually my game froze as someone joined. Rebooted the xbox and started the game up and I get a message saying my last saved character is corrupt.

I don't even have to explain how I felt, losing a level 50 character that I spent so much time on.

Is there a fix for this? Or is GB doing anything about it?

I just created a tech support ticket with Gearbox and 2K. I will post as soon as I hear anything back.

I know how you feel. I had a level 50 commando get corrupted on xbl sent 2k an email and they said to bad so sad.

Hi

Thank you for contacting 2K Technical Support. We are sorry to hear you are having an issue with our title. "Corrupted data" is one of the most disappointing issues we can hear about, as we have no way way to recover it.

We do know however that a data corruption can be caused by a number of things. The most common of these is power loss while saving/loading. Also a disconnection from the network can cause this if the data is being saved to a cloud.

Typically the only way retrieve corrupted data is through a data recovery service, which can be very expensive - more so than is worth the price in most cases.

The best advice I can give is to make sure that you do regular backups of your game save.

We hope that you continue to enjoy Borderlands 2. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions or concerns.

I have a level 50 commando and I can't open the saved game. I went to the storage device and and it has my level 50 Axton and I even copyed it to the cloud but when I tried to open the saved game it tells me that it is corrupted and it asks me if I want to delete and start a new game. Is there anyway for you to help me. I can still get to my stash with my other charaters but Axton was my first and had the majority of my gear. Could you please help me.

So, turning your Xbox off while it is in the loading screen will make your character corrupt?

Not necessarily, I lost it right after I downloaded the dlc.
Also on a further check my badasss rank was reset to 0 with my challenge progress still present, and I lost every head and skin I found on each of my charachters.
This is unacceptable because even if they cant restore my character, they should be able to recalculated badass ranks by checking challenges on my characters

This really sucks. I just lost my mechromancer today and now it has graveyard.sav. GB must do something about this. It was the F'ing DLC and I know it. At least I still have my badass score.

It (in this case the game itself) would have to scan all characters at load directly after a storage device has been chosen before a game or character had been chosen. I surmise the reason it isn't done this way is that this process would become progressively longer, for every character you'd made on that profile.

YOU can restore your character, badass levels,skins, heads, but it requires being a bit tech savvy and some loose morals.
