This really needs to be fixed soon, I know personally I haven't even touched this game since we discovered what exactly happens, and if this goes on much longer, I doubt this game is going to survive, especially with Black Ops 2 coming out in 3 weeks. I really hope this gets fixed, and they find some way to restore the lost characters.

It is like an STD, it is not just who you play with but everyone those players have played with. So even if you never joined a modder if someone you played with has or someone they played with has and so on... you still get the setting saved in your data unfortunately

Theyre getting a fix out, its not like they can fix it and patch the 360 tomorrow, it still has to go through an archaic cert process.

Leftover code is fairly common, blame the people that started the spread instead of solely blaming GB for the issue.

I'm blaming them for not letting us know before we lost everything through social media or otherwise. They have really said nothing besides on this forum. How many gamers will seek out a forum to find an answer? I am the only one of my friends to do so...
Also, it doesn't seem the fix will get our characters back so what's the point?

You never know, I dont know what is stored in the Graveyard.sav file. They wont know of an issue until its reported and that they can replicate it. Wasnt until like a day or 2 ago someone was able to point out exactly how to duplicate it.

It doesn't have to do with modding, randoms or any of that sort. I can speak from experience that it most likely(or not) have to do with the DLC. I was in that free-roam camera state when you die and can't spawn(SPOLIER, during the fight with Master Gee) and I was doing this alone. He killed me, couldn't spawn. And a WARNING for other people, if you happen to be in this glitch were you can't spawn, hold x and it will bring you to the main menu with your character intact, do not, I repeat, DO NOT press start then quit. Because it actually says "quit without saving" and I thought it meant whatever progress you made in that one game, won't stay with you. But aparently(I leanred the hard way) it means"delete this character"

Glad you guys are getting on it, modding yourself is one thing but players modding to disrupt others is just plain bad behaviour, no second chances imo. This is why devs end up locking down games and not allowing mods and user created content, some idiots always ruin the fun.

even with xbl ban, they'll get the last laugh due to insult-to-injury factor. The only true satisfying end would.... ok im not going there.

I don't know a console ban is pretty painful for some.
