Default AvPGalaxy Hands-on

I know a lot of you follow the action over at AvPGalaxy, but just in case you didn't see, they've got a hands-on preview article up with impressions.

http://www.avpgalaxy.net/games/alien...alaxy-preview/

It's a good read and it goes into detail about some of the modes that Aaron was able to play in person.

Now this is a good read.

pros:
Detailed environment, authentic
Collectables
music is great
xeno internal organs
tributes to movie

things to be alarmed:
-demo wasn't scary
-SP: Aliens are slow and not dangerous (guy didn't die even once)
-extermination got boring quick
-Bright colored lightning
-xeno animation
-boiler

Ok so, according to your post above, all the main features are falling apart while the 'cosmetic' things are better. This isn't very exciting LOL!

Let's see:
pros:
Detailed environment, authentic - GOOD!
Collectables - not so good, these are cosmetic and superficial things (AKA boring)
music is great - GOOD!
xeno internal organs - another cosmetic feature but GOOD!
tributes to movie - It tries, but it's far away from the movie its trying to follow. Good try GBX.

things to be alarmed:
-demo wasn't scary - FAIL! This is the MAIN FEATURE of the whole franchise!
-SP: Aliens are slow and not dangerous (guy didn't die even once) - FAIL! Aliens are supposed to be smart, quick and deadly! Alien animations slapping marines' faces like angry bitches are embarassing.
-extermination got boring quick - FAIL! Where's INFESTATION??
-Bright colored lightning - FAIL - more colors and lights, less fear factor!
-xeno animation - FAIL! Oh, THAT'S A SWITCH! LOL.
-boiler - EPIC FAIL! No further comments here...

I do hope that the demo was at normal (or casual) difficulty, to explain away it's non-scariness (and the perceived slow movement of the Aliens) and to give me hope that the game will be as scary as it is also high action. Otherwise, let's hope GBX can ramp up the game to meet said expectations.

And the Alien animation is actually starting to give me nightmares now. I'd be happy if the game's delayed because the animations need further fine-tuning (that is, if the current development time is not sufficient to meet the release date).

Meanwhile, really dig the Alien internal organs and the subtle film tributes. When I read that the film nods and tributes were toned down subtly, I had a great smile of approval. Subtlety is key. Good call GBX! And it's good to be reaffirmed the SP's detailed, authentic environments.

The demonstration came to an end as a dropship comes hurtling through the doors and the marines head off to rescue Belle from the Aliens.

...
...
What a twist...anyways so far single player is looking amazing, but most the multiplayer modes look like crap and then don't even break anything new out in our face

^YEP! It looks boring! Seriously, this game will achieve something we could not NEVER imagine... EVER: It's going to have a worse MP when compared to the infamous AvP2010!

Poor xenos... they deserve better games. My only hope regarding this game is Mod tools, which we all know ain't going to happen.

Escape seems quite fun, the same counts for survival I hope =)

And to be honest you and many more have been "imagining" things since day one, proven wrong time and time again =D No female marines, harmless acid-blood, no authentic pulse rifle sound, no disabable HUD... and the list goes on because whining know no bounds.

[You better fix that Rebecca mode, to me it seems pretty broken]

There was never an issue with female marines being in the game. Its getting kind of old seeing people continue to misrepresent the facts to make others look dumb. (Including the latest interview from REV3 GAMES.)
