Default Any one know about ''shaders\vsh.bin'' errors?

Yes I read the two posts relating to this issue. This is not an illegal copy despite what others may think. (Saying this because Ive seen people accused of this problem!) I own Halo PC. Now, my question is does any one know how to fix this?

My desktop/quick launch links work just fine however, I am able to reproduce this error. I have, well had, a quick key on my keyboard to run CE but when ever I hit it, Id get that error telling me that shaders\vsh.bin was missing or corrupt and a different error when Id run a SHELL command VB .NET (programming for halomaps.org) where it cannot locate the config.txt file.

Does any one have any ideas?

Try running halo without using the quick key on your keyboard, I know it doesn't make that much sense, but try it.

But if that doesn't work, reinstall halo?

Well the desktop links work just fine. I'm just wondering why Halo throws an exception when loading if I use a Hot Key. If there are any programmers out here who know .NET and can help please do. Same thing happens or I get an exception that the config.txt file is missing.....

What if you make a bin file, that runs the halo exe file be the hotkey instead of the keyboard going directly to the halo exe.

You need to make sure the Working Directory is set for the application startup. From the keyboard software there is likely an option to set the application working or startup directory when you're defining what application the key should start. If not you can create a new shortcut to halo.exe, and then link the keyboard key to the shortcut instead of directly to the application. Note the working directory should be just the Halo folder (or Halo Custom Edition folder for halo ce).

In Visual Basic .NET you can do the following:
Code:
Dim startInfo As New ProcessStartInfo("C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Games\\Halo\\halo.exe")
startInfo.WorkingDirectory = "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Games\\Halo"

Process.Start(startInfo)
You need to import the System.Diagnostics namespace for this to work.

Why do it in VB.NET if you can just right-click it?

But nice code and good to know

Geeze. I knew it was something simple. That's all I forgot.
Thanks GATHERING EXCEPTION DATA!

I'm actually working on a little program that helps manage your maps, helps people use tool by giving it a GUI and to help manage their projects. It's not much but I think it could help a little.

If any one wants to know a little more PM me.

umm you know that the simplist thing to do to fix the error is to make sure that in your shortcuts prefrences the "Target" is the location of Halo.exe and that the "Start In" field is the location of Halo.exe
