I'm posting this as a new thread since the known issues thread requested for this specific issue to start a new one.
360 Version I joined a friends game tonight with a level 23 hunter. Game loaded up and I was at the entrance of new haven. Three other people were in the game and at the time were checking out the town, opening weapon boxes, etc. I noticed during the game that the jump button and zoom buttons were not that responsive due to latency. Most casual players would've never noticed the difference but there was a slight delay in jumping and zooming. So with that in mind I decided to host a game. When I loaded the same character back up at the same location (New Haven) I noticed I could no longer use the bloodwing. When I checked the skill tree I had zero points. I tried everything to get them back - respec at a station, gain another level, fast travel, etc. and nothing worked. I was forced to start a new character and start over to get my skill points. Please let me know if you need more info. |

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me with my level 24 Brick. It really SUCKS! I dont really wanna play the game anymore... cause i bought it mostly cause of all the online co-op. The game is dull when you play by yourself. If they dont fix it soon i would really like a re-fund

I just experienced a similar issue. My character lost all skill points and it's name reset to original name. My issue occurred when I was invited back to a game on XBOX live. Somehow it reset all of my skill points. I tried to respec but I can only respec the 1 skill point I gained when I gained a level since rejoining. Can you post the link to the original thread?

crap! I am having the same freaking problem. This is stupid!!!
There has to be a fix for this, if this issue isn't game breaking, I don't know what is. I have put over 16 hours in, and if this is what is going to happen... grr. |

To confirm, what happened is that I loaded up my own game, and then accepted a game invite from a friend who was a level 19.
Once I opened their game, I saw a huge dump of XP and was like "That's weird..." I can't adjust skill points, other than the ones I earn when I level up and my proficiencies are all at "0". The hell! Am I done for now, is there ANYTHING that can be done..??? CRAP! |

The only thing you can do atm is to make a backup of your character on an external hd/usb drive.

I too lost ALL my skill points. It seems related to packet loss. When connecting with a friend who had a poorer connection compared to myself I lost my weapon proficiencies and skill points, however the game also seemed to have saved because I entered his game.
I was a level 36 Roland. The game is completely blown for the character. I want some form of fix. I put a lot of time and effort into this character and I can't be expected to take this size of loss with a grain of salt. This is outrageous. |

So I should be screwed out of my character for not seeing it coming? for that matter, what good does your advise do for us? Who have already LOST the hard work? I fail to see any usefulness in your post. You answered no question and provided no solutions. This isn't a preventative thread, its a 'What the hell do I do to salvage the hours I spent in your game Gearbox?' thread. |

Wow, I didn't realize this many people have the issue. In the thread "Known Issues" this specific issue is stated as being "Low Frequency". This definitely doesn't sound like low frequency.
