Your argument always seems to circle back to this point. You can’t 1v1 Rath/Gali with the characters you like to play as, and then argue that they need a nerf? I know they’re strong characters, but they really aren’t as hard to avoid or counter as you’re making out. If every character was a viable 1v1 against any other character then what would be the point of it being a team based game? Or building good team composition?
If you’re on your own and a Rath runs you down, you deserve to lose. If you invis and give up mid, well catching an enemy player alone/off guard and flushing them out of their position is exactly what Rath is designed to do.

I feel the people arguing that Gal is op are bad player or dont even know how to play in team for a TEAM Game…
Before you jump on me saying I am baise because I play Gal, yes I play him but I have more kill with others caracter lol.
and Rath super is soo easy to counter, saying it shouldnt do “2k+” ehehe
My point here: Don’t nerf something because something kill you; Up your game !
I really think the frustration lies in the stun and the powerful blows she deals. Even if she is not OP, it feels completely OP when you’re looking at Galilea mashing you to death in (an inexplicable) 3rd person mode, then the stun ends and you think you can get away, and then you die by a last hit before you can start moving.
But you’re right I guess. if you anticipate the shieldthrow it is a lot harder for Galilea to hit it (it’s not the easiest skill to hit… yet insanely strong)

I guess you are the kind of player that stay still and dont jump/straft ?
The animation of Gal shield throw is noticable by the way.
The view angle when playing gal is limited; seriously if you simple staft/circle while taking your distance, you will be find.
If you are melee, dps him outside the Hex.
Just in case, I am not defending Gal, I am defending the useless “nerf” because something kill me…
Honestly at this point, if you’re still trying to argue that Galilea isn’t broken as all hell, you’re just a contrarian. She will be the death of this game if it’s not patched soon. I already tons of friends who no longer want to play simply because of her.
Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence mate. I do strafe and jump, but that shield is going to hit you at least sometimes, especially if the Galilea is any good and flanks your team. You’re not going to tell me the shield has never hit you are you? In the cases it does hit it can be pretty frustrating, since she can kill you within the stuntime when you play a character that is not tanky, or close to kill you when you are in that time.

I am sorry to say that, but its a teamplay game “with some kind of moba” you cannot expect to kill everyone with all caracter, even for Gal.
I will not care if they nerf Gal, she is already easy to kill.
Look what will happend with blind nerf.
Gal then Rath or Boldur or Attik or deand or any melee
At this point, they will cry that range people are too OP.
And the circle repeat;
Until Support player become OP.
See the probl ?
What really need is ajustement for weaker caracter.
Edit: If your friend is leaving only because of Gal; it more then that… You should really ask them why they are leaving for real;
Is it because of only 2 map burn out pvp? or “8” map random pve ?
Funny thing is, yesterday I did had time to play 5 pvp game in incursion; on those 5 games, only 1 game someone had Gal !
You don’t have to anticipate the shield throw; You literally see the animation when she’s throwing it (Since it has a delay)
With quick enough reflexes and assuming you aren’t jumping like a bunny at the time you could easily turn 90degrees, sprint and jump to try and dodge the throw.
It is very hard to land the shield on an opponent moving to the side, and if gali misses, she has very few tools left to close the gap.

Thanks, this helps! I’ll keep an eye out for the animation!

It do get hit, and no its never killed me during the stun period. But I dont play support caracter which they have weak HP, at this point maybe use gear that provide HP bonus !
P.S I dont have gear that increase CC duration.
Yes I do get kill by Gal or by any caracter; I am not god lol
In a aware situation vs Gal I dont have issue with the caracter I play;
fair enough… Now I know about the animation I’m going to guess it will be the same here… Still going to throw my controller in the upper right corner of the room when the thing does actually hit lol

Here what I posted long time ago on your topic, previous above

Best counter vs Gali is to kite him
Ambra: Lure him and use your Staff-Smash(2hit combo push) or even your dmgbonus-staff , and turn around in circle around your heal-orb
Calderius: Just kite him with your double jump ability
Rath: Simply silence Gal when you notice he will throw his shield(stun), make him very weak.
Orendi: Simply blind him and kite
etc,etc.
Ofcourse; some Hero cannot counter Galea since they are mostly support like Miko/Marquis; for those case you simply run away or cover yourself with your teamate( dont be afraid to simply run )
Meanly, the key word here is kite Galea

Anyway, I think this thread is turning in circle
my point was Gal is not OP
Your point was Gal is OP
If they nerf that caracter, all good
Meanwhile, have fun playing the game:)
Look, from my experience with the game, roughly 15 hours so far, this is what I believe:
-
You are not wrong about the balance issues. However, every game I’ve played has had very varied characters. I see Whiskey Foxtrot all the time, ISIC, Kleese. I will agree that there are favourites (Rath specifically) but I can’t believe it’s as near the extent you say it is. The game has literally been out for less than a week and new players will be limited to early unlocks. The character base is expanding by the day, give it some time.
-
Gearbox have been clear about their post-launch plans. Free characters, maps, multiplayer modes, balance updates. All we can do is discuss the issues we feel should be addressed and I’m sure they’ll be seen if they are prominent enough.
-
While you can’t counter everything, the helix system is certainly built to play around situational needs. For example, Galilea’s field of desecration silence unlock could work against Rath’s ulti. Miko’s spores can be stuck onto an ally while he charges into battle (which feels hilarious and satisfying). It’s all about experimenting and finding tactics that suit your need at the time, depending on characters. That’s the kind of game I see in front of me.
Five days in, and yes, things could be better. Give Gearbox a bit of time to see what needs adjusting and I’m sure in a couple of months time we’ll have seen a world of difference.

They’ve had months. Read the whole post if you want to debate. They’ve had MONTHS to work on this.
Galilea is a woman.
and although she is strong, she’s far from what I would consider OP. This might be a ‘‘get gud’’ situation. Her only broken point is her pull that seems to come from nowhere.
I have read the thread.
But, as a MOBA, balancing can take a very long time. All I’m saying is give the game some time to grow. 3 weeks of overall testing (CTT, OB) will highlight a few issues but won’t serve to every problem.
If you love the game as you say you do, I assumed you would be a little more open to discussing its issues, not just criticise it.

there are more than 3 weeks in a month. Also: plurality, months, not month.
