You don’t have to anticipate the shield throw; You literally see the animation when she’s throwing it (Since it has a delay)

With quick enough reflexes and assuming you aren’t jumping like a bunny at the time you could easily turn 90degrees, sprint and jump to try and dodge the throw.

It is very hard to land the shield on an opponent moving to the side, and if gali misses, she has very few tools left to close the gap.

Thanks, this helps! I’ll keep an eye out for the animation!

It do get hit, and no its never killed me during the stun period. But I dont play support caracter which they have weak HP, at this point maybe use gear that provide HP bonus !
P.S I dont have gear that increase CC duration.

Yes I do get kill by Gal or by any caracter; I am not god lol

In a aware situation vs Gal I dont have issue with the caracter I play;

fair enough… Now I know about the animation I’m going to guess it will be the same here… Still going to throw my controller in the upper right corner of the room when the thing does actually hit lol :stuck_out_tongue:

lol, carefull, they will ask to nerf the floor :stuck_out_tongue:

I just have to grind 38 rank to get the lady deand…
she look fun to play ! hehe

Here what I posted long time ago on your topic, previous above

Best counter vs Gali is to kite him
Ambra: Lure him and use your Staff-Smash(2hit combo push) or even your dmgbonus-staff , and turn around in circle around your heal-orb
Calderius: Just kite him with your double jump ability
Rath: Simply silence Gal when you notice he will throw his shield(stun), make him very weak.
Orendi: Simply blind him and kite
etc,etc.

Ofcourse; some Hero cannot counter Galea since they are mostly support like Miko/Marquis; for those case you simply run away or cover yourself with your teamate( dont be afraid to simply run )

Meanly, the key word here is kite Galea

Anyway, I think this thread is turning in circle
my point was Gal is not OP
Your point was Gal is OP

If they nerf that caracter, all good

Meanwhile, have fun playing the game:)

Look, from my experience with the game, roughly 15 hours so far, this is what I believe:

  • You are not wrong about the balance issues. However, every game I’ve played has had very varied characters. I see Whiskey Foxtrot all the time, ISIC, Kleese. I will agree that there are favourites (Rath specifically) but I can’t believe it’s as near the extent you say it is. The game has literally been out for less than a week and new players will be limited to early unlocks. The character base is expanding by the day, give it some time.

  • Gearbox have been clear about their post-launch plans. Free characters, maps, multiplayer modes, balance updates. All we can do is discuss the issues we feel should be addressed and I’m sure they’ll be seen if they are prominent enough.

  • While you can’t counter everything, the helix system is certainly built to play around situational needs. For example, Galilea’s field of desecration silence unlock could work against Rath’s ulti. Miko’s spores can be stuck onto an ally while he charges into battle (which feels hilarious and satisfying). It’s all about experimenting and finding tactics that suit your need at the time, depending on characters. That’s the kind of game I see in front of me.

Five days in, and yes, things could be better. Give Gearbox a bit of time to see what needs adjusting and I’m sure in a couple of months time we’ll have seen a world of difference.

They’ve had months. Read the whole post if you want to debate. They’ve had MONTHS to work on this.

Galilea is a woman.

and although she is strong, she’s far from what I would consider OP. This might be a ‘‘get gud’’ situation. Her only broken point is her pull that seems to come from nowhere.

I have read the thread.

But, as a MOBA, balancing can take a very long time. All I’m saying is give the game some time to grow. 3 weeks of overall testing (CTT, OB) will highlight a few issues but won’t serve to every problem.

If you love the game as you say you do, I assumed you would be a little more open to discussing its issues, not just criticise it.

there are more than 3 weeks in a month. Also: plurality, months, not month.

Galilea wasn’t out in the CTT, she’s a relatively new character, of course she’ll be imbalanced. Also, there’s been little community playtime in those months.

The CTT only went on for a few days and the OB went on for 10. Apart from internal testing, how is that over a month?

And salsacookies1 also makes a good point.

I’m not saying I don’t agree with you on a few aspects BUT I do believe that criticising a game after only five days, a game that has not been given the chance to grow, to change, only acts as a bit of selfishness on your part.

They may have had months to work on this but balance issues aren’t the only aspect that they’ve had to work on. These things take time, patience and support.

Be patient, as the game was just released. Every game with this amount of character combos and overall complexity is going to have balance issues to hammer out early on. It will likely never be perfect, but its still a great game so accept that perfection will never happen but that “pretty ■■■■■■■ awesome” already is there and roll with it.

Knockback attacks are great at countering melee characters (who are not nearly as OP as people make them out to be). As a tank, one of my favorite ways to counter melee characters is to get behind them when they are attacking one of my teammates, and then use a special move (like Montana’s or Boldur’s dash attack) and launch them WAY into our backfield. They melt in seconds after that if the team is even remotely paying attention. It works way more than you would expect, and is very satisfying.

Slows or stuns are excellent against melee characters also. Whenever I play tank I make sure to load focus on slow/stun abilities (Boldur’s axe throw, Montana’s ice bullets, etc).

Basically, tanks are great ways to mess up melee characters. I consistently ruin Phoebe’s, Rath’s, and Gal’s day using my tank characters. Tank’s are a pretty underrated class in this game but they are the bane of melee characters in my experience.

When people complain about Galilea I have to remember Phoebe in the CTT, there was no stopping her. Hell, I would joke when we were losing that “I killed Phoebe, so that means I actually won.” But Gearbox listened and fixed her. They do listen to the fan base and adjust accordingly
