120 second wait time is back?

I was totally cool with 45. Que times + map pick times are long enough that you should know who you want to play as and always have a backup if they get picked. Not hard to do.

Game developers don’t deserve more credit? Are you a game developer?

Alright babe.

Nope. I’m a human being with a logical brain that tells me that if 120 seconds is too long then shorten that time in increments. Not drop it by over 50% straight up. Do I need to be a game developer to understand that?? Really?

No but people slip up and there is no need to be condescending when they try to fix it.

I agree. I’ve defended Gearbox about 98% of the time and made excuses for them until yesterday.

If you’ve played since the beta or at least launch then you know how many changes they have made and then had to go back on.

It’s because they don’t make small adjustments on anything. They see a problem with something and so they slam down the nerfs, buffs, and drastic changes so hard your head spins.

I have had so many people tell me that Gearbox knows best and they have the data and testing required to balance correctly and yet time and time again they prove otherwise.

Such large or drastic changes create chaos.

I’m sorry, where was I condescending regarding their effort to fix this? They did indeed slip up and I gave my feedback on how they could try not to slip up again.

Yeah I’m loving the influx of new players/users who are all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed that are defending every single thing. They don’t yet understand that we used to be them, but have just seen more and been broken by the constant issues.

I’m sorry I thought you were implying they don’t deserve any credit for trying to help.

No, I’m over the moon that they’re fixing it - especially considering how many of these little issues go ignored when brought up. It’s just confusing to me that they would drop the timer so dramatically in the first place. Even if the data points to 45 seconds as the sweet spot, then you would think they would slowly work towards that. 90>60>45 over the course of a week or two. Internal data doesn’t always correlate to the active players and individual issues that arise, which is why we are now seeing them having to withdraw their changes so soon after making them.

Exactly.

Especially when they want you to build a good team and you wait for others to choose if you’re playing with randoms. Then you have to choose a load out, a skin, and a taunt. Some people change it up so they won’t choose the same char, skin, etc.

45 seconds is ridiculous when considering all of the above on top of the slow lobby connections.

I don’t want to feel pressured on a game that panders to choices and flashy skins.

Being from Aus I have mad server issues, so I don’t get to the character select screen until about 20 seconds in. I’m guaranteed to get booted from the match and have to re-join to the character select screen. I think the issue is less “45 seconds is too short” and more “why are people having trouble connecting in that time frame”. Definitely both though. Check out this vid of mine - not only was I disconnected, but I didn’t get to re-join until 1:30 into the match and had my character chosen for me lol

Youre correct. Its the connection issues.

It’s the servers.

Often times when playing I’ll choose a character based off of others. It’s practically impossible to do so when playing with others because, first I’m unable to choose a character until about 30 seconds. Second, most that already knew what character they would be playing still don’t choose their character for another 5-10. And then that still leaves about 3 open slots usually on a team to pick in under 20 seconds, and without communication that’s near impossible. I don’t want to pick Bennedict if I know Caldarius and another Foxtrot are about to be picked. Which is exactly what happened to me with those short wait times

That’s a… good day  and a few weeks ago when the MM seemed to be working quite well. Now the queue times are ~15 minutes long on top of that. Even just trying to sell items can get me booted all the way back to the title screen for another 10 minutes of server error messages before I can get back into the game. It’s been like that since release.

And then you get people on here telling you that you’re not being positive enough, giving devs enough credit, or not being supportive of the game because you argue against microtransactions… it’s rather painful…

Yeah :frowning:

I am taking a break from BB unfortunately. Hopefully when I come back, whenever that may be, they will have sorted through some of the issues. Im just too frustrated right now.

Im playing Rogue Galaxy and Terraria until something new comes out like RE 7, Bandicoot, maybe last guardian and FF 15, FF7, Horizon Zero Dawn etc

I do hope they go for like a 60-75 second character select timer. I didn’t mind the 120 seconds personally and 45 is just too low.

Aaaaaaaand boom goes the dynamite, were down to 90 which is a bit more tolerable. I can see where server connections come into play
