50 ways to keep Krieg alive in UVHM

Hey, I should add something.

Slag and Amp shields boost life steal with Elemental Empathy for Hellborn K builds.

Sheriff’s Badge, not Deputy’s. The later affects shotguns, not pistols.

Nice additions guys. I’ll see where they should fit in.

If you focus on burns, use the Good Touch. Only alternative is Hellfire, which doesn’t have health regen.

but you have 5/5 EEmpathy

I sometimes find empathy is not enough it may just be me tho. So yeah the good touch can help with a hell born build.

Piemanlee got it. Sometimes EE just isn’t enough, even at my current 61 cap. Moxxi weapons are the tits on any elemental character, enough said, lmao.

i must confess though, i have my own policy of no moxxi or no FoTFH in my main psycho

Yeah me to if I’m running melee if I’m using my bloodlust/hellborn build than I run Fotf and any number of moxie weapons

That being said, I still prefer using the Hellfire over the Good Touch in any situation that health isn’t an issue. Against bosses I’ll switch to the Good Touch, but if I’m just mowing down baddies the Hellfire outdamages it.

@Piemanlee @cyoung2094

Zero reason to use Good Touch over Hellfire in a proper Hellborn set up unless you want to take longer to kill things. Hellborn has higher damage and chance to ignite. Not including bosses immune to DoT, I can’t think of a single fight where I would run Good Touch over Hellfire. And even then, I’d use Grog or RtB if health gating was the goal because Good Touch is not even good at that.

It’s really unnecessary with Krieg. He’s perfectly designed to heal on his own.

I guess you could use the moxxi’s heal from impact damage whist fighting dot-resistant enemies such as terramorphous or maybe with a non-pip, bloodbath-enhanced spect to get the benefits of the extra crit mod… Although I would rather use a hail or a heartbreaker incase I wanted healing and damage.

Outside a couple of exceptions (raids and some boss-like enemies) I believe healing outside of 5/5 Elemental Empathy can be skipped (both op0 and op8).

“not including bosses immune to DoT”
You mean like Hyperius, Pyroclastic Pete, The Warrior, the Dragons, Dexiduous, and many of the main storyline bosses?

Yeah. Good Touch is a great alternative to Hellfire. Hellfire has better DPS but only against enemies vulnerable to fire. If they aren’t, it’s useless, whereas the Good Touch at least still gives you heals, which EE just doesn’t have enough of against the larger enemies. Don’t get me wrong, I main Hellfire. It’s been my go-to weapon in every Borderlands game so far and is always my first legendary to seek out. But it has weak points.

As a Moxxi gun for Hellborn Krieg, I prefer the Kitten over the Good touch, but that’s just me.

Sometimes I also have problems staying alive with just Empathy. I have to remember to set fire to some enemy before shooting the others, otherwise they die too fast and I follow suit.

Again, unless fire damage doesn’t do anything. EE is only as helpful as the burn damage you’re putting out. If you’re not causing a DoT, you’re not getting reliable heals from it. Sure Hellfire has better bullet damage and thus gets more EE health regen per shot, but Good Touch has another heal it’s giving you for each bullet. You’d be healing much more per shot with the Good Touch against resistant enemies than you will with the Hellfire.

Not a fan of the Kitten myself. Odd spread patterns are harder to wield effectively in my experience. It’s personal preference though.

True but the Hellfire has added splash, meaning it has more than twice the chance of causing a DoT and it has higher DoT damage, so as long as your target doesn’t die right off, when it comes to healing, it’s a wash.

Yeah, if it got down to keeping Krieg healed against fire resistant bosses, the Heartbreaker would heal you better. Unfortunately it’s a shotgun and has less ammo than an SMG as well.
