I bought the game during the recent sale (game and season pass) and have put in about 9 hours without issue. I went to play yesterday and had no sound in the game. No sound on logo screens, menu or once in game. Just no sound at all. Other games still have sound and so do other games using the EPIC launcher.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled borderlands 3 - 3 times, and the launcher twice. Checked and did all windows updates and made sure that spatial sound was disabled (didn’t make a difference). I even went into windows and deleted any file associated with borderlands. I was hoping to play a bunch and be ready for the new DLC, but it’s pretty hard to enjoy the game when you can’t hear anything.

The last thing I did in the game was rescue the woman (bottled head )from the VR world – if that is of any help.

Is this a known bug or recent issue? I don’t want to try a full windows restore as it is only borderlands 3 that doesn’t have sound. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I reinstalled the Epic Games Launcher and Borderlands 3 on a different hard drive and I now have sound again. No idea why. All other games through the Epic Games Launcher on the first drive had sound and no issues. I just wanted to update this in case it helps someone else. Don’t know what I will do if it happens again.

The last update (not hotfix) did include changes to sound play-back (listed in the 11/21 notes). I’ve seen numerous reports since the game launched of audio (and sometimes graphics) options being mysteriously changed, so it could be that the update messed up your settings and moving everything go them set right again.

One thing about this (and similar issues with graphics settings) is that sometimes the display in a control panel might not show the current setting correctly (same thing has been reported with some video settings too); the proverbial ‘toggle it off then on again’ seems to fix this.
