A sincere plea to devs from a competitive player

Again I know why and how some of the people representing the competitive scene feel about this topic. The exclusivity was the easiest to address with Randy’s comment on there potentially being “fixed sets”.
Your first example represents the 2 pieces I absolutely agree should be taken out of pvp entirely:
Alamo-7 & Burning Sunset.
The added CC effects one I feel is debatable now that the severely nerfed slows usefulness. If it still reduced movement speed & crippled your ability to defend yourself I would be more inclined to agree.
I also agree that legendaries should have variable cost.
Another great example with Borrowed timer. I can already think of a billion ways to abuse that but I can easily think of a way to fix it as well.
Instead of a percentage of health to activate it could be a flat rate like 100-150 health, that way an opponent could plan accordingly with a burst skill when realizing someone has that gear. A fix they would see needs to be made if it were ever heavily abused. Again balance patches happen for a reason.
While nothing will ever be perfectly balanced I think it can get close with enough time but automatically saying NO without any sort of attempt seems stubborn.

Is it safe to say after three and a half months that both the matchmaking rework and the amd hardware issues are low priority for gbx then?

Draft i don’t see a problem but legendary gear i do. Why do people feel legendary gear is the game changer beyond broken repair? I have yet to see legendary gear just change the tide of battle and honestly the players who use said legendary gear would win without it.

I do agree this scene needs a competitive portion cause it’s getting boring just steam rolling teams.

then take it off your loadouts if you’ll win without it.

I do actually but depending on the character they are more fun or push my character even further. Attack speed legendary makes you attack faster. Attack damage legendary makes you hit harder.

Some legendary passives make excellent combos for characters, like deande and legendary that does 140 damage when shields depleted. But even if they didn’t have it i could run attack speed deande and get the same effect.

Lol…that is exactly why they shouldn’t be allowed in a competitive mode. It pushes a character past a point that they can achieve without an additional passive. I see it almost as if it allowed me to pick an 11th helix option with the passives that myself and others are upset about.

honestly, the legendary gear just seems to add another level of strategy to the game

All gear pushes a player pass a point they can achieve. I could understand if you just wanted the passives gone, but I’m talking about the stats of the character themselves.

Vow of Zealous Fury makes me push my attack speed further than any epic could, Symbiotic Gauntlet pushes my attack damage further than epic gear. Both of which do it in a way that compliments their shard cost.

I want to maximize my charactes stats in a given area as far as possible, legendaries do that. And some legendaries passives are fun and tactical to use in a since depending on character, making ideas that are otherwise obsolete viable pushing a certain thresh hold a certain direction.

Lol…stacking attack speed every time you activate a skill=passive. Raises attack damage depending on current health=passive. We have been lobbying for months for no legendaries in a competitive mode if it ever comes because the passives are the issue. You say you would understand if the passives were removed. You gonna tell me you’d use symbiotic gauntlet if it didn’t add bonus damage depending on your current health?

I’m saying if Symbiotic Gauntlet just gave you 16-18% increase attack damage then yes I would use it. Hell it didn’t even have to be 16-18% it could be 12% but i’d still use it cause that pushes my character even further. than the epic like it was intended.

I mainly use the gear to increase my character stats given within it’s shards limits. Legendaries do that

They probably don’t want a challenge or they know they won’t like it or they just want to grind challenges/lore/XP.

12 to even 14% would be fair for the cost I have no issues with that. 16+ is insane. Adding over 50% additional is too much.

I wouldn’t bc I have rare and common gear that have higher bonuses for less shards when the passive is taken out

or it could be because they don’t feel the need to try to be competitive? some people just play this game for the enjoyment, they don’t need to stomp or have an easy time, typically I have fun trying new things out to see what works and what doesn’t. So if I got an “invitation” like that i’d certainly avoid it. Earlier I said that the “competitive” players are the ones that I seem to have the worst experiences playing with, it just strikes me as elitist, narrow minded, and bigoted to speak like that.

I apologize if that seems like a personal attack, it is not meant as one.

I personally only join a private if they were nice (then i end up being friends with them) such as no taunting sent a good game message sincerely and complemented me so I know they’re not overly competitive and just want a fair challenge (I personally only play the hardest difficulties bc I find that challenge fun and more rewarding especially if it offers real rewards like game items and junk) . I’m fine with that since there’s nothing wrong with competition since it’s literally everywhere in the world and it kind of is the world. Just don’t get absorbed by it then it sucks.

So if you don’t enjoy collaborating with or playing against the competitive people, why wouldn’t you want there to be a search for them so you can avoid them entirely…?
