A solution, if possible, to matchmaking

I think what they really need to do is stop pairing PUGs with pre-made teams, so you don’t get these situations where you get paired with 4 new players and go up against 4 grouped guys who are CR 100s. Whenever I see that, I just roll my eyes and go, “Well, I can chalk this up as a loss, but I’m gonna make those guys f**king work for that win!”

That’s the right attitude! I’ve been on both sides of this type of match up. And there is nothing more satisfying than a full team of randoms pulling off a win against pre-mades. But I’ve also found a number of pre-mades are just friends playing together and not looking for a stomp.

Sadly, and I can personally attest to this, when you get 5 linked by lobby and microphone level 100s looking for a match, they generally are looking to win, and not much else.

I personally have greatly cut down on playing with premades lately because most of the people I was playing with had become “win at all costs and get f*****g pissed off / annoyed if we don’t”, only play as your very best character, and constantly be micro-managing our tactics, attacks, and defences.

It was to the point where people I played with regularly were telling me “if you want to experiment with and learn new characters, do it on your own time so you don’t affect our team performance”.

I almost quit playing BB a few weeks ago cuz it had all gotten way too serious.

I knew there was a reason I had put iff buying a gaming mic for so long.

I prefer to just listen to my music, smoke some bowls, and play the games I love.

It’s more zen.

This is me for sure. Just playing with a pre-made group of friends specifically because they are all mellow and don’t flip out if we are loosing and don’t try to stomp teams that aren’t great. If we come against a team of really low levels we usually switch up characters and try to get some lore done and just relax a little. It’s just more fun that way. As for the comp. matches and casual matches, I liked that better. I get really burned out on playing incursion on “overplayed” err, “over-growth” map.

Do tell as there are only 2 really good Boldur’s on PC. :frowning: we need more good Boldur’s.

I can handle losing because I played poorly. I can handle losing because my team played poorly. I can handle losing because the other team made a great push and turned the tables in their favor. What really sucks the fun out of pvp is the constant barrage of 4 vs 5 matches. At least let someone jump in and try to help! Granted, I have won a couple of those underdog matches, but generally it doesn’t end well for the undermanned team.

The legendary Boldur is a Japanese guy, every time I play with him he gets first blood and finishes with double digit kills. Once he had five kills before anyone else in the match had one, then he proceeded to solo the first sentry. He’s absolutely mad.
