I played Civ Rev, if that counts…?
Dunno, never played this one but the older players [who began with IV or those before] say Rev was a failure. Probably not as addictive, I guess.
See I feel there just needs to be a better incentive to play coop, take pages from destiny at what they do. In some regard they got that right, but borderlands needs to take it further, better loot chances with more people even rarer drop possibility with more people involved, certain raids only being available with multiplayer would be a nice touch. Better in general world loot with more people in parties, youll see even better white loot but not as much in quantity most everything should be higher grade stuff. Certain weekly quests like Destiny, to offer “special uniques” to those who participate and are successful in doing them would work. Im not saying make multiplayer the “focus”, but make it more interesting more worthwhile to team up! THAT to me is what TPS, didnt have enough of, things to do worthwhile to keep people gathered together, giving reasons to go out on “Loot hunts” and MAJOR RAIDS. THAT is something I made a BIG deal about before the Claptastic Voyage there NEEDED to be TWO if not more major bosses to keep things interesting. Thats where Borderlands 3 comes in we need more than we had in BL2, for raids and things to do, this needs to live up to everyones hype of the “BIG ONE”…
We will just have to wait and see on Battleborn, it really doesnt at this point really get me all excited seeing it as it is now. Just have to play the waiting game for the moment, but with it less than a year off youd think theyd have more to reveal by now.
I think battle born will be the next big thing. It looks incredible.
CIV Rev was fantastic too. I played CIVs 2 through 4 or 5 on pc. And even alpha centauri. CIV Rev I played on both xbox and my iphone and ipad. Great way to spend extra minutes here or there. But Borderlands and Minecraft hooked me more than CIV did.
And I think they might have to come up with a loot on ground system that doesn’t make everyone so grabby. It ends up hurting multiplayer. I often have a split mind about multiplayer. Like I’d rather multiplayer because it’s more fun but sometimes I really don’t anyone else to take my loot.
I can relate to that, its whats kept me away from having open in general lobbies, even accepting friend requests, Ive had to tone down due lack of respect and consideration among people who play together, and “ninja looters”. Im really not sure what other big games have come up with like destiny to prevent this, or make it “more fair” but one things for sure the Loot system needs some kind of change, to the Rng, all of it. Just not certain on what course of action should be taken.
But wheres more detail than we had from the initial trailer, theyve kept everything completely quiet, not sure if thats a good sign.
I think they are just working hard on it. And making sure its great before they really let us see what the games all about. Alot of things are kept quiet a few months before e3. I really am almost certain. We are going to get alot of info at this years e3 about battleborn.
The BL series is definitely a unique formula. At least from what I’ve played over the past 30 years. For me, it’s the most addicting games since Zelda. I can’t wait for the next BL! The Tales From The Borderlands is pretty good too if your a fan of the story. Does anyone know for sure if they are going to remake BL1 for the new gens? I’ve heard rumors but nothing concrete yet.
I’ll have to check out Battleborn, I haven’t seen it yet but you guys made it sound awesome
“instanced loot” works pretty well. Destiny does that. Meaning that what you see drop is only visible/gettable on your screen. You might see 3 blue drops, 6 green and 12 white on screen. Whereas the next guy might see a legendary, a purple, and 15 whites. Diablo 3 also does it.
Borderlands could still do it their own way/variant of this. Perhaps every drop is visible to everyone but everyone can pick up their own copy.
There have been entire threads on this topic alone.
(Discourse duped my post again.)
Mr. Pitchford has made comments about it. But mostly just “its possible” and “maybe”.
Hopefully we will get a concrete answer soon…
Battleborn looks really good. I’m sure it’ll be awesome coming from those guys
Battleborn is ok but MOBA’s aren’t really my gaming style, sadly.
All those posts about Borderlands 3, I hope will get you hyped and/or influenced in it.
Same, if it is Moba-esque like style ill probably pass on it.
I tell myself that I will be done with Borderlands once I finish all the DLCs, because there are so many other games I need to play. But, other little things keep getting in the way. New patches come out, new level caps come out, routines that worked before no longer work, I witness players using awesome gear combos that I never considered using, and I just find myself spending time making new tweaks and trying out different gear combinations, on both BL2 and BL:TPS. But, one day, I will finish all the DLCs, and I will finally be able to devote my time to something besides Borderlands.
They can make spinoffs until I’m the only one buying them for all I care.
I’m very excited about the potential Zer0 spin off game.
