Alani latest nerf was too harsh?

Disclosure: I am not a pro, nor veteran, fairly new to this game.

I hadn’t unlocked her before the nerf, so I don’t know exactly how powerful she was. But I’ve been playing her a lot recently, and I feel like shes in a good spot, and she feels very comfortable to use.

I honestly think that Alani went so long unchecked, healing wise, and support as a whole have been so good at doing things, that Alani mains especially have gotten into the mindset that they’re the ones who are supposed to do everything. Including attacking, dealing damage, and getting kills on top of their natural jobs of supporting the team. Well, there are characters who do those things, they are the non-support classed characters. If you want to do all those special things, then play someone who’s not a healer/support.

YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO TONS OF DAMAGE YOUR JOB IS TO HEAL AND HELP THE PEOPLE THAT DO, OTHERWISE WHAT’S THE POINT OF HAVING SUPPORT CLASSED CHARACTERS?

Pretty sure I established at the very beginning of this post that I don’t give a flying ■■■■ about the damage nerfs. The healing nerf is the one that hurt. She’s now barely even a secondary healer. It’s to the point where I damn near quit whenever I see somebody on my team pick Alani and now I can kill alani easier than any other character. I mean hell by this point she’s a worse Miko.

They’re two different styles of healer, Alani is a rescuer whereas Miko is a more traditional constant healer. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and are in a similar place balance wise!

don’t bother, they think she needs more nerfs. Alani’s whole thing as they say themselves is being a rescuer, burst heals are her go to. she is supposed to have higher “at once” heals than the others in the first place. but to cut it by a third and call it balanced is the very height of asininity. rescuer? As if. She can’t even rescue herself.

Thats not what they are saying…

Alani could heal others for near 2k, herself for 1k and give 30% dr thats like heal for 2600 or 1300 (without overheal that extra 30%)

They should give her 10% back on her 3rd stack and see how it goes.

She was the queen of heals for a long long time.

In a 1v1, maybe. But If the Alani you’re playing against is allowing herself to get I 1v1’s she is a pretty poor Alani. Almost every time I play Alani, I get 3 or less deaths. I don’t typically play her I capture, and I expect she would do much worse in that mode.

Anyway, besides Alani’s broken helix (GwTF), I think she can be weak. I wish that her early game was better, and GWTF was removed completely.

I guess I wrote that like i knew how Alani should be played, and like I knew more than I do. I don’t. All I know is that in my experience I have done well with her relative to other characters. Maybe it’s cuz I’ve played bad competition, idk. But I seem to consistently do okay.

Edit: my limited experience with Melka has been quite poor.

No we’ve said gwtf was the core issue and one of the reasons she needed to be nerfed. One of my first comments was saying I would have preferred that be changed rather than the nerfs she received.

I love how Im still seeing alani being far and away the most picked healer…and still doing just fine.

I mean obviously she’s weaker than pre patch but lets just say that in the healer meta…she’s still up there…

As nerfs were a part of his point I couldn’t help pointing out your examples. You could have used Kleese as he, Reyna, and Miko are the only supports that weren’t further hit by this round of nerf bat.

Of all supports (imo) reyna depends on firmware more than any other so id say she was nerfed quite a bit in this patch.

Not true she depends more on her team, just 1 person around to be effective.

I always used cd+cd when skills are in cd, or her legi thx to the new free shard <3
