Hi, do you really have to go through the campaigns once again with alt chars?!
I mean once you have gone through both normal and TVHM mode with one char, do you really have to do the same again for another!?
Damn! I just boosted a second char for my gf from 1-50, and she didn’t have her class or relic mod unlocked. And then she has to go through all the missions again, that kinda sucks to be honest, a bit of a waste of time really.

I believe the reason for this is that GBX want players to learn the character’s skills in a more organic way than searching for ‘GoaT’ builds and then getting stuck because they don’t really understand the skill mechanics.
It would be nice if you could skip non-unique cut-scenes on the 2nd or subsequent characters though.

First of all I don’t think the story missions in both Borderland 2 and 3 are that great. Second the way I see Borderland is that it is a shoot & loot game, so for me once you gone through normal and THVM mode, your alts should automatically have unlocked all weapon mods, class and relic mod, so you shouldn’t “waste” another 30 hours to go through it all again.

THIS! It’s actually obnoxious how much of this game is cutscenes and listening to players talk before you can do what needs to be done. I’d actually like to stop watch how long it takes me to do the combat portions compared to the horrendous talking/cutscene portions. The ratio is probably surprising because there is A LOT of downtime or forced waiting in this game. You throw in the loading screens on console and my oh my do you have an excruciatingly boring 2nd playthrough

Here are some bulleted items to consider
a) you have guardian rank unlocked. nice perks that adds some freshness to to the experience
b) you could potentially do some cash trades from your first guy with a friend or a splitscreen mule so that you can upgrade all your SDUs earlier.
c) you get to experience new dialog responses from your new character
d) you already have experience with what to do and where to go. You’ll eventually be ready at the next destination before the game even tells you what that destination is. and you learn to speed run some parts.
e) it provides a nice and fun structure to the activities/goals you have in the game.
f) every borderlands does it this way. BL2 only recently got a quick start level 30 character option.
edit… added G
G) you likely missed some funny dialog on the first playthrough. I know I did.
All that said I would appreciate some options. At least the dynamic player scaling in multiplayer means that it’s not a big deal when high level players play with low level players. But cutscene skipping would be nice.
I’d LOVE to be able to create new characters with all gear slots unlocked.
Being able to start a brand new character straight to level 35 might be nice. I feel like this will get that option eventually. Perhaps when the 4th DLC drops?

Well, fair enough, those players who don’t mind, or even want to do another playthrough with a new character should have the option. But for us who just wants to play with the alt ASAP should also have the option, just as you say, start at lvl 35, with all mods unlocked. And then you can get a boost if you like.

See the funniest part of this is, the game actually FORCES you to sit around in a lot of these sections so you can’t physically go to the next thing even if you know what to do(it’ll block your way with a character, or lack of ability to open a door or area or it will force you to follow a character that takes their sweet time) . Or it forces a “Speak to so and so” thing before the mission begins as a time gait to keep you sitting around even again, if you know what to do. I’m telling you i’ve been through this mess 4 times (twice on zane to get mayhem on TVHM and the same for Moze) it’s not a fun experience IMHO, but if you like it, cool. Just speaking for myself here.

It helps me go on the forums haha. Just on my 4th playthrough an took out Troy. So that long cut scene allows me to go on my phone and check this out.
But still. Not going to be getting Moze and Fl4k to Endgame unless I can cut scenes

Same, I usually use the original playthrough on a new character so I can learn the ins and outs of the character skills but damn I want to skip cutscenes!!

I will say I loved B2 and never minded doing the story missions over. Heck, I’ve even written fanfic about it.
Seems to me the cutscenes in B3 are longer. But then most of the dialogue is longer, less focused, and … just not as good.
