Ambra liquified? Thoughts?

Lol feels good though doesn’t it? Due to Ambras dominance, I’ve gone from an average 6-3 kdr winning 60ish percent of my matches to a 10-2 player winning 80ish percent of my matches. When used correctly she really is an impact player.

I really wouldn’t be surprised to see another nerf coming her way.

lol I really hope they don’t nerf her again. Might have to start doing bad on purpose just to mess with the data lol jk.

She’s still good as a field control damage support. Problem is I see people trying to play as a primary healer and compare her to Miko.

You don’t do that.
Ambra is so focused on dealing damage if you try to go somewhat heal build, you end up trying to become a meh healer with meh damage.

Focus her on damage and kaboom, people still melt but takes a second or so longer compared to the beta one. Wombo combo with AoE CC to a meteor = instant win late fight.

Literally just played a match as Miko vs an Ambra. Miko: 9-1-17. Ambra 6-4-8. Miko’s left Helix gives 30% movement when taking ANY damage, Ambra’s grants 30% when flame shield activates. The only thing that Ambra can do better than Miko is skill damage, but if you specialize in skill damage, you might as well go all out for an Orendi build. I’m sorry, people on this thread keep talking about their success and what she can still do, but I have yet to see it in any practical application and what I hear that she can do, other heroes typically do better.

You can’t compare characters like that. It’s an “apple and orange” thing.Orendi is a 100% burst mage. Miko is a healer. Ambra is the hardest to kill and can do both damage and heal. If you’re playing her as the primary healer instead of damage clean up type with abiltiy to support, you’re pretty much going to fail.

My duo partner didn’t even care about the survivability MS helix any more and went pure damage and he has great success with her. He even gave up on the 30% MS shield helix there and went with the damage instead. After all, if enemy is dead, there’s no reason to run away.

If I have to say, her best trait is her consistency. You can’t miss with your Beam and Wind. They’re the two best things you can ask for when it comes to cleaning up someone. Add in another support and you will see just how strong Ambra is in a duo-support comp just like Reyna with another support.

You keep comparing her to Miko. What about comparing to the other supports? Let’s be honest here but both have been OP with Ambra being too good at damage and Miko being too good at healing. Ambras damage has been brought more in line and its now time to bring Miko’s healing more in line.

RIP, who cares? She’s pointless. The way they designed her, conceptually speaking, she will ALWAYS be over powered or useless. This is a tragic commonality between games with heroes. The same goes for a lot of melee characters and ranged characters. The line between trash and crazy strong is very thin.

Miko healing is actually fine. What not fine are the self-heal she receives from healing other that overload her survivability. Currently, unless I play a specific char just to destroy her, she becomes extremely annoying to play against. It’s like, the game just ask if I’m playing Benedict or Galilea at the start of the game if the other side decide to pick a Miko.

You need to hope she’s completely incompetent and never look at the map to get flanked and die because she just outrun everyone by default with a slow field and +30% ms later on while healing 200 hp a second.

When they’re done toning that down, she will actually be worth diving to destroy instead of trying to deal damage only to see her come back to full health because you failed to 100-0 a support behind 2 people+.

I honestly think that she needs to go back the what she was after her first patch in the beta. Yes she was a little strong, however now she is almost useless.

Well a failing trait of Miko is how terribly easy it is to crit, so that’s always something to keep in mind. Miko’s survivability is definitely strong, but personally I think that is necessary for a healer. Otherwise, everyone would focus Miko down everytime and Miko would become nigh impossible to use without good team communication (which online with random players obviously lacks) So I wouldn’t say Miko needs changed just yet. Though I would say there are indeed team compositions involving Miko that can be really damn hard to take down lol I used Miko with a Montana and a Kelvin and idt there was a moment that anyone went down as long as I was around. So I guess that’s another situation that comes down to not being able to communicate with your randoms very well + not knowing the enemy team comp as you make your own, which has been a contributing factor to most OP/UP conversations

I’m telling you guys she is still awesome! Maybe I should make a post on how to make the best of her with the nerfs imo. hmmm

That’d be helpful. I am doing well, but sensing a slight drop off from yesterday’s dominance.

Wow. Nice job.
What I gathered from my limited play yesterday was that now she’s way more similar to what she was during CTT. More melee based char, just that now we have heat bar that enhances damage :stuck_out_tongue:. So my approach was basically healing team and charging up the heat bar, once that full, get in 3 strikes with staff, solar wind to charge heat bar a bit more and again staff strikes if needed.
BTW what kind of gear you use for Ambra?

Miko is also playing with minimal communication though. A team that communicates to protect Miko will be just as hard to kill even with a team that has communication to deal with Miko.

Ambra was the only one whose survivability was just as high and that was toned down. With Miko having even more popularity and win rate thanks to Ambra’s nerf removing her from “Very Brain dead tier”, it’s obvious she’s going to be focused on by the balance team now.

I’d love to see current gameplay with those stats. Unless the team you are playing against is incompetent I have a hard time believing you are pulling those numbers.

I tested Ambra during Overgrowth just trying to drain a minor monion and it took forever to kill it while walking backwards.

Because now drain is not for damage. It’s for slow hp recovery and heat gage filling. Once that is full you go for melee.

Pretty much…cant wait until Galilea gets similar balancing…shes still ■■■■■■■■

Maybe it’s because I main Attikus, but this just feels like an overreaction from being used to her OP state. Seriously, if she was S tier (She was) then now she’s B at worst, likely B+. She’s the best offensive support in the game. Her offense beats a good number of melee.

Like, really? She’s useless? Come on. Exaggeration doesn’t help your argument.

Exactly this^

I’ve never used Ambra both in the CTT and in the Beta but I decided to try her after all of the gripe and “crying” that came from her nerf. I spec her as a support/healer as i think she’s meant to be. I charge up the heat meter then I start melee until it’s drained (3-4 hits). She is far from useless. You just have to know how to pick your battles. Stop trying to go up against everyone solo, it’s not going to happen.

This is how I build her: http://battlebornforum.com/pages/battleborn-helix-build-editor-ambra/?rows=-1,-1,-1,-1,-1,1,0,-1,1,-1,

If you don’t have Level 7 “Radiant Halberd” use “Flame Staff”

Thank somebody for admitting it, it’s like after the patch notes everyone wants to have a pity party for ambra. I’ve used her several times and stomped tons of people excluding rath if he ults me and gali. besdies those two I am nearly unstoppable, and even those two rarely kill me. Ambra Locks down HARD, she zones well and is nearly unapproachable a sniper cannot cover all angles to flank her and most melee cannot handle her.

I’ve had an entire team chasing me and unable to kill me after i dived past their sentry to kill a marquis. An orendi, toby, phoebe and shaney&aurox could not kill me from their bast to mines and the most damage i took was from the sentry. I’ve done this several times to many other teams, Ambra is still viable and strong, with a sniper and another support there is almost no way to play against her.
