Ammo in Pre-sequel

Any ideas with Nisha to help conserve more or use less ammo? I did fine through the main game but I am having a tough time with the holodome mostly because of a constant lack of ammo.

I know my usual lucky Crapshooter, fire at the walls half the time setup tears through ammo. Is there a better setup for the holodome?

Ammo can be a bit of a pain to keep stocked. When I was doing the holodome, I would just fast travel back to Moxxi’s between rounds and grab the ammo regen cocktail. Some usefull stuff there at the bar.

I haven’t played the holodome yet but I would try having other gun types in your inventory ready to be switched out in to one of your 4 equipped slots whenever one of your 4 equipped weapons is out or low on ammo.

That’s actually a really good idea. Thanks man

Playing as Nisha, i had my troubles keeping the ammo pool filled, but if you use singularity grenades to group enemys together (Black Hole does fit, too) and use freezing + The Unforgiven to finish them off, you will have no more ammo issues. You can cut your ammo consumption by half, by using this method!

Actually you are sort of right … it’s 50 from vendors and 75 from crates and drops

I never buy laser ammo. I don’t use it so of course there’s 3 in every chest.

I never buy any ammo, except after dying in boss fights or things like the 'dome. There’s way more than enough ammo in chests.

I’m too lazy to run around opening ammo cases. I prefer mashing the buy button as quick as possible at a vendor.

Nope, it’s 25 from vendors and 75 from drops

Generally I’ve found ammo not to be much of an issue, certainly by UVHM the ability to buy enough upgrades to have large ammo pools is ok for most situations. The drops for crates and boxes is more than enough to keep me away from the ammo vendor.

In holodome it has been an issue with running out on a couple of weapons, luckily I run a claptrap and so can spam for Gun Wizard which restocks ammo for me and the party - a very handy skill to have

The Obvious answer is to be a Better shot. I’m not saying that to be a ā€œSmart A**ā€. But I’ve played BL-1, BL-2, and TPS without using a ā€œAction Skillā€ or Grenades. I just learn the guns I have. Bump my BA points into Recoil Red. Damage, etc.

And I Ammo Up as often as Possible. I also Re-Load Constantly so I always have Fresh- Full Mags.

Having also layed BL1 and 2, I can tell you that being a better shot is not always enough to mitigate ammo issues. Weapons with higher ammo pools, if not replenished frequently, will run out ammo faster than weapons with lower ammo pools, due to having higher fire rates and lower damage. Try going into Holodome and use an SMG through all the rounds. Now try the same thing with a Laser, which is replinished easily since every Dahl soldier has one, or a shotgun. You’ll more than like run out of ammo with the SMG than the others.

Also, being a better shot doesn’t really hold up for Nisha. She has a ton of fire rate buffs and auto aims, so its not missed shots that kill the ammo pool, but simply the number of shots you fire themselves. Have you used Hyperion shotguns on Nisha? Or anarchists? The Gwen’s Other Head on any character? Your ammo doesn’t last very long if they’re not refilled constantly.

Heck, I’ve even had a diificult time refilling my grenades with Athena. There are times when I’ve had to open 7 crates to get 4 grenades.

In Holodome, this problem is even more pronounced.

Being a better shot does not really help in this instance. It seems that TPS is just a bit more stingy with ammo drops. I rarely ran out of ammo in BL2, but it happens fairly frequently in TPS, mainly because the crates either give miniscule amounts of the ammo I need, or it just gives me ammo for weapons I’m not even using.

I usually do that too, which is why I’m REALLY bad at using Tediore guns.

Two bullets fired and… oh crap! There goes another magazine.

TPS does have a problem with less Ammo that you need. I’m currently Playing Nisha. I don’t put my SP into a particular Build. Just in the areas that fit what I want out of the guns I use. I don’t pick my Shotties by Brand per say. But by Spread Pattern. I’ll aim at a wall to see what it does. Fire Rate, Reload, and Mag size all matter.

SMG’s are my back up weapons. When my Assault Rifle and Pistol are out of ammo. I use my SMG’s to get myself through, or out of an area to where I can ammo up. By Chest, or Vend.

I Snipe an area to clear out Soldiers, etc. Get the rest with my main guns. Shot Guns I save for when I get swarmed. I, like everyone else. Match my Shields and Mods to the situation and weapon(s) being used at the time. I’ll switch Mods several times during a battle if needed.

Plus, I’ve seen better guns in the machine, than from a Drop. TPS does not have a good Drop rate at all. all of my best guns, I’ve had to buy them.

I’ve yet to play Holodome. I have it with Season Pass. But don’t know if I’d get any good Drops from playing there. I was thinking of using it to Lvl Up from Normal to TVHM

Outside of Laser guns almost any ammo type runs out with Nisha. I’ve seen a few threads where people try to circumvent her ammo dump to no avail.

She is a total bullet hose with no ammo regeneration.

Which is funny because when you think about it, every other character has some form of ammo conservation or regen.

Athena has elemental barrage.
Jack has Absolute Advantage.
Claptrap has the Pinata COM.
Wilhelm has Overcharge.

Nisha is the only character without any ammo conserving skills or COMs. She also has more potent fire rate boosts than most characters, and she has a greater number of fire rate boosts as well. Really not a great combination.

True Enough. As The Law Bringer she just lays down rounds of ammo. As Marcus says: ā€œYou Don’t Need To Be a Better shot. You Just Need To Shoot More Bulletsā€.

With Nisha and up to RK5, I’ve only run out of ammo 2-3 times with a single weapon. Never over all.

I’ll just leave that there

Outside of pistol builds, Nisha does just fine without ammo regen

Yes and no: the main problem really is pistol-ammo for sure, but did you ever or did you even try to take a boss with the bullpub or a spinigun alone?? I’m sure you did, so you will know that Nisha needs to switch weapons every, say, ten minutes to not run out of ammo.
Its not a big deal, but i would call it some sort of micromanagement.
