And not even 1pm est and the pop is now at 1195! Tomorrow will be a huge indication on what direction this game goes. Either people are going to come back and check out the new maps and balance changes or we’ll flatten out between 1500 and 2000 players (average on-line at any given moment) with HumbleBundle sales. Which I’m guessing translates to around 8000-10000 active players. That’s a fairly healthy population if we’re talking how many people are needed to prevent long waits or being matched against the same teams.
When it comes to the deeply discounted prices we’ve seen I’m happy and pissed for this reason:
I don’t mind the sale price of the base game to bring in more players. I paid full price to get in from day 1; totally fine with that.
It infuriates me that I paid full price for a season pass and before I even got one tiny piece of content for it people can get it cheaper. That right there is the slap in the face.
I’m sure Gearbox have supported the Humble Bundle before. It’s seems like a decent thing to do, to me.
I bought the deluxe digital version, without straining my pocket too much and I don’t begrudge others who are less fortunate than me being able to purchase a brilliant game, at all.
Lol at all the people still trying to put a negative spin on this. Cripes. I don’t even play on pc and I’m just happy for them
Paid just over 80 dollars and it was worth every penny. Countless hours of fun for both my son and I. I’m glad I could help support a company who’s games I love.
Not only is the game fun but almost every gripe I’ve had with the game thus far has been listened to and been addressed. I’m hoping that this is one of those types of games that start off slow but after time people wise up, try the game and it starts to thrive.
How much something costs, doesn’t mean anything to it’s value. Just ask Leicester City FC.
it is worth the $30 I spent when it was half off in the store on xbox one…because my favorite and most played game instantly
Gamertag - Princeton Cups
All the gaming “news” sites are doing just that. I’m convinced they’re full of OW fanboys or Blizzard paid them off to s**t stomp all over BB. Some people will do anything to get clicks these days >_>
I have the Digital Deluxe version for both XB1 and Steam. And I have Overwatch to boot.
I do not regret my decision.
That’s awesome you shouldn’t regret that for a minute this game is amazing and I’d happily give GBX more money just for making such a brilliant game
Double dipped this game already. full price on release version (actually fell for the Overhype and sold it…regret my descision) , 35 bux for xb1 digital deluxe (missed it dearly) and almost bought the 15 dollar version on pc . The only reason I didn’t was because it seems like xb1 has the higher population.
People have no patience , buy things at full price then complain that people can get it cheaper now…that’s life.
Absolutely!
At one time, I believed the people who pre-ordered were just the kind of people who had to be the first on the block to do everything.
Then, after a while, I realized that @Gulfwulf and I only have one outlet for entertainment and if we know a company and we know we’re going to play a title, we can buy things at full retail price just because we don’t want to wait until the price comes down to be able to play.
If PC gaming was just one of many hobbies, we would have to compromise with our entertainment budget, but it is our only hobby. As such, we have to do our research. We have to have the right hardware, we play in open betas, and we know what we like. We haven’t bought a single title that we’ve regretted buying at full price including season passes.
And this is including the fact we have to buy two of everything in order for us both to be able to play.
Now the people I don’t understand are those who feel they have to pre-order the deluxe version and then get upset when they see the price drop. It’s a choice to buy full price and they all end up on sale eventually.
LOL another post about how “cheap” the game is now and how bad we should feel about paying full price for a game. As of right now, there is nobody commenting that is in agreement with your anger. I bought day one with season pass. I’m into it as much as anyone. Since I’ve been playing from day one and will continue to play until October (when titanfall 2 comes out) I would easily think it was worth the money. That’s if I stop then. I think there are a number of releases likely to happen after that time. Cheers mate!
I’m in the same boat lol. Battleborn has been my go to/mainly played game for a while . Even Overwatch couldn’t keep me off of it (it did for a few weeks as it was the only game i could play that plenty of my friends had…still can’t convince them to play BB) . When Titainfall 2 and Gears 4 release, BB may not dominate my play time but it will still be in regular rotation.
Id be okay with buying deluxe if they werent nicked and diming the founders with these skins
I care about a lot of things in my life, but the fluctuating price of games I’ve already bought… not so much. I made my decision to pay full price for the game after considering whether I wanted to spend that much money on it. I decided that I did. That’s enough.
No doubt there are people at Gearbox studying excel spreadsheets on this issue but it makes very little difference to what the game is. I would be interested if they turned it free to play as I expect that would lead to substantial changes, but until then, I am untroubled and indeed pleased that more of my friends are taking the sale as an opportunity to buy the game.
I’m gonna have to get this! Battleborn and a bunch of other good games for $15. I pre-ordered Battleborn Digital Deluxe for the PS4. $15 is worth the chance this game might bounce back on PC one day. Look at Evolve, I would of bet it was beyond saving, but now look at it.
BB is already my most played game on Steam, I’d say I got my moneys worth
And the first DLC hasn’t even come out yet!
Just like I was happy to hear Evolve finally went free to play (even with spending close to 100 bux on its content) , I was just as happy to hear that BB is being discounted on all platforms. More ppl to play , less time to que , the merrier …imo.
