again try using weaker weapons in m4 and then realise they are more needed yes gearbox should buff but hasn’t so anointments are the only choice
Can you suggest a weak weapon? I’m currently using a warlord non-elemental with no anointment. Still in m4 BTW.
You could replace your current loadout with weapons and shields of white and green rarity while not using anointments …
Honestly the hardest thing about that is getting white and green gear.

Anointed weapons are the endgame, the better versions of guns. It is what gives purpose to having endgame difficulty. They make an endgme difficulty, and rare, endgame gear to tackle it with.
I think what you are really asking for is the anointments to be balanced among each other, because there’s dozens of them but a few vastly outshine the others. This would alleviate the feeling of limited choices you mention.
Asking for anointments to be removed is like asking for purple rarity to be removed. Are there people out there complaining that purple (or legendary) weapons are the “only choice”?
Finished a Negul Neshai run, from fast travel to boss, with only blue weapons no annointment on m4 TVHM.
Do you run purple weapons? I do not count unique items ( ones with red text or quest rewards).
And as far as the rarity as a whole. It can be removed for endgame as it sits currently. If it was removed I might actually see some blues or greens from world drops.
Endgame gear should be gear you can only get at endgame. I’ve had anointed gear dropping constantly since day one (that’s not endgame). I actually needed to farm to get levels or to areas to get specific gear.
I mean, being peeved by that sounds like a pretty subjective thing. To me, anointed weapons dropping and destroying in lower difficulties comes across as a way of nudging the player to try the higher difficulties.

Anointments are only required in higher mayhem levels. That was their intent.
There is specific fade away anointment I see all the time.

the 2 fade-away anointments are bad because fl4k does no have to rely on anointmens for m4
no I’m saying not all people use anointments on only op weapons to make them even better for endgame some use them to make them usable in endgame
OK this is dependant but dahl snipers not on fl4k dahl allegiance zane with less crit buffs the 100% cryo and the crit one are absolute musts if you want to use those as of right now dahl snipers aren’t that good also the hunt series of sniper rifles due to having no scope really benefit on fl4k with the 100% damage anoint as you need shots to count if you miss not every ones a God of aiming lol
*edit while these are only two I do have alot more but as I am giving character usage and reasons it would be a mile long if I included more ask me for more if you want though I would be happy to give more options I often use guns based on how I feel about them lol
I’m using most of my none anointed gear on Moze. It lets me get a view on how weapons actually are without my action skill getting in the way.
I do agree some weapons do need a buff to even be viable but the character should buff it not the anointed drop. It’d be nice to have 100% sentinel as a perk and an anointment that only boost 25% so it’s noticeable but not needed.
Never said they were good… But there are plenty of other ones he can use.
again using the companion it’s a great gun but due to it’s own mechanics needs anointments if you want to play with it for fun as almost all enemies resist it’s damage even with a buff the fire on crit weakens it on flak amara any one but an anointment can help with shielded or armoured enemies again while so many people play with meta gear and meta builds there are so many more that play with meta gear builds or anointments but with a mainly none meta setup and those meta items help those players I am one of them the hunt series of snipers are good but even though they are snipers they are scopeless meaning you have to be alot closer so more damage matters if you miss a shot on a bolt action sniper it will feel like an eternity to fire again and you will more often than not go down with those missed shots
It’s actually gun dependant and enemy dependant for the accuracy and handling anointments they are viable but most of the time they aren’t
let me rephrase this i dont feel that other characters should need very specific anointed guns or gear to be on par with fl4k using non specific gear.
buff the character not the guns as far as anointmens go
but that is my opinion
Seems as if this post was spot on even before 2.0 as now everyone is talking about anointments ruining endgame.
