Any hope for further TPS DLCs?

New DLC for BL2 is not going to happen, unless it’s only released for XB1/PS4/PC. I very much doubt we’ll see more content for TPS because (1) there’s a much smaller player-base than for BL2 when GBX extended the DLC and (2) they seem to have rather a lot on the go at the moment. The best hope for more BL content is BL3.

I agree with this

And that is why you don’t assume things. It is not the developers’ faults that you assumed such.

What are you talking about?

Your previous post where you talk about them not being clear about the content. They never in any way made any promise about it being like what was provided for BL2.

I have no idea what post you are talking about. I never assumed anything or blamed developers for anything. I only ever said recently there might be a chance they might do an event or some small dlc but probably not. I love the pre sequel and all its content. Yes when they first announced there would be 4 dlcs they were not clear at all and alot of people did assume. Because the first to games had 4 major dlcs. They said from the start it would be smaller than bl2 and i accepted that a long time ago.

Not sure which announcement(s) you read, but it seemed pretty clear to me at the time from the official GBX announcement that the season pass included two playable characters and two DLCs, one of which was to be a campaign-style DLC. That’s why I waited to see what the characters would be like before buying the pass. There did seem to be a fair bit of misinformation flying around the tubes at the time, though, so it would have been very easy to get the wrong impression.

The first announcement for the season pass or dlc was a a pax event i believe or something like that. And all that was said was bl the pre sequel will be getting 4 dlcs. Then everyone cheered etc… it wasnt til later when they announced what the season pass would have in it.

Ah, that explains it. I’m old enough to have given up trusting announcements made at cons a long time ago - too many disappointments.

Yep. There was definitely a reason I didn’t get the season pass on the PS3. Lack of announced story DLC was the reason.

Would be nice for that leaked concept of the virus holiday ship to come out though. Looked like it would have been pretty sweet.

Yea it would be awesome if that dlc came out. The pre sequel is a great game and i still play it often. And it’s just begging for some new content.

Dashboard farming is terrible for multiplayer. I do agree that not all side mission enemies were worthy of the fight but it shouldn’t matter. Borderlands players expect to be able to refight all those fights at will. I think the items are rare enough. No reason to limit them to one chance per playthrough. Supposedly the reason for non-respawning dudes was one fan saying to a gearbox employee, “why does the game have everyone come back when I reload the game? I want my kills or named characters to be permanent.” Meanwhile, most of us enjoy cycling all the enemies and bosses again for extra loot chances. Some people repeat kill the same guy 100s of times before they get the item or one with “perfect parts”.

Overall, it was a silly choice. It didn’t bother me as much as other people but it definitely shouldn’t have happened. Personally I find myself enjoying the game a lot more knowing that I can go do any mission and still have access to the item farm on repeat if I really want to. Before that I’d be more likely to not complete a mission, just so I could leave myself open to dashboard farming if I needed to.

I’m pretty sure the decision was not made solely on the opinion of one player. Although they’ve been somewhat cagey about exactly what information they do have available, it’s clear that GBX have some fairly detailed stats on how people play, how far they get, etc. As for the “most of us”, that pretty much only applies to the self-selected group of regulars on these forums. I’d actually suspect that most of the people who’ve completed at least one play-through of either BL2 or TPS on normal have never even visited the forums… Oh, the HORROR!!

Interesting point about immersion. I definitely feel like I’m jumping around in low gravity space during that game.

Plus hilarious accidents where you turn slightly too fast on a dime and flip/roll 6 times.

I think it’s finally starting to pick up some steam actually. And in my opinion, it’s because of the thanksgiving sale of the handsome collection. Personally I play TPS today and stream on twitch to generate exposure for my session and the game in general.

edit: and the other thing of note was the late october patch

The boss fights in the claptrap DLC were very tough. Kinda raid like.

I’d love to see a mashup game/patch like this. It wouldn’t matter that much if things got a little crazy. That would be the point of it. It happens often enough in video games. Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter allow it.

A bunch of people seem to be the type that:
a) want to get powerleveled
b) because of A they only play online because they’d be overlevel for the normal playthrough
c) only have 2 weapon slots because of A

It is the fast path to level 70 but that certainly sounds too limiting to me.

But so does playing only to level 30ish. Until I have all the skill points available (getting to max level) I don’t feel like I’ve come close to experiencing how powerful/awesome a given class can get. Respec’ing to try all the skills doesn’t cover it because often it’s the combination of two or more skill trees with many skill points that truly sets that character apart.

It would be an interesting experiment for gearbox to try it differently. Perhaps where your max level ends up being around level 30. Skill points would be acquired at a faster rate, perhaps attached to your leveling still or perhaps not. If so it would be about 2 skill points per level. After beating the game you could go back again and again to redo ANY mission side or story, scaled to level 30.

Good im glad you are giving it exposure. The pre sequel is such a great game and people really should try it and play it more.
