Really?
Why are they shutting down?
Really?
Why are they shutting down?
Pretty much what @CaballoGallo said. Since 2K Australia is closing the doors, what we have is probably all that we are going to get
Big daddy 2K likes their money so a bunch of people lost their jobs because of it.
Probably didnât help Olâ M8 Tone cut government funding cause he and his government of fools are really good guys thx for voting him in!
if the game is put to bed now from the side of the developers it should be thrown out to the community to create there own dlcs and share them like it is on skyrim
Would be nice, but thatâll never happen.
the holo dome sucked, shouldnât count as DLC.
all they did for that was make a big dome and add existing enemyâs to it.
the playable jack character didnt take much to make either. they just took their existing jack model gave him skills and charge us for it.
Those two DLC packs had little effort in their making
Not to mention that O2 Kits clip with Timothyâs clothes.
But that was not what the description of the Season Pass on Steam said (dunno about consoles). It specifically stated that some of the DLC included in the Season Pass were new characters and not campaign DLCs.
In fact, you could make an argument that the Season Pass for TPS was a better value than the one in BL2. New characters for each were $10, and the campaign DLCs were $10. However, on BL2 the level increase packs were $5 each, and the BL2 Pass only included one of them while the TPS Pass included both.
Of course, thatâs assuming the Holodome was equal to a standard campaign DLC, which it clearly is not.
Have you even played Jack? His skill tree design is actually some of the best out of all the characters. And it probably took a lot of effort to make sure everything worked. Not to mention that Timmyâs dialogue is some of the best ever. If it was such easy money, anybody could do it.
Oh my goshâŚ2k Australia closingâŚ
VERY. Sorry to see that happen. A TON of creative talent being broken up.
But wasnât the last DLC an in-house production from GBâŚjust like TTAoDK???
So they âcouldâ do another DLC but itâs just like others have said⌠It rests solely on the economicsâŚcan they make enough money on it to justify the resources expended?? Always the question and I havenât checked DLC sale figures or Projections.
This game was a bridge to the future. And it has gotten a totally undeserved bad rap from some. I feel the original price was probably a shade too high with season pass included. If you set it the same as BL2 for instance. That is the level folks expect. A preorder at $49.95 viice $59.95 would have set peopleâs expectations entirely differently and I think the game would be considered a huge success.
There were so many wonderful and âdifferentâ additions in this gameâŚthe gravity mechanic, oxygen and Oz kits, atmosphere vs vacuum, addions of Ice and Lasers. And a wide variety of new guns and equipment. And this last DLC was simply fantastic!! REALLY added to the length and variety of the game and the included patch fixed a lot of issues with end game.
I personally think GB is in somewhat of risky spot right now. Will Battleborn carry them till BL3???
I doubt any company bets the farm on one product so I would not be surprised if GB does not go back to its cash cow franchise for some safe money from time to time.
For instance, four Head Hunter packs for the Pre-Sequel only this time make the boss Raid boss level or Eclipse/Eos level. The normal heads and skins but also add a weapon or two and a piece of equipment. Charge $5-7 or $15 for the HH pass and I think they would be wildly successful. And spread this out to every 2-3 months and you have added another year of overlap time till BL3 kicks in and you arenât relying solely on Battleborn.
All TPS. needs for people to keep playing is more raids⌠More things to do end game⌠More ways to test builds and equipment combinations, more ways to compete against friends and with friends. The HH packs proposed above could do that with less resources expended from GB and more profit potential.
It also would make me one damn happy fan!! LOL
I never heard that. I thought the game and all DLC was a 2k Australia product.
Iâm not sure. In my mind it was an in-house GB project. Certainly the quality of it was superbâŚevery bit as good as TTAoDK.
At least IMHO.
yes it took some work to make him a playable character and thats make a skill tree for him. thats really it. they took jack gave him some moves. do you consider him to be equal to any other paid for character? all the other characters are uniquely made. while he is fun to play, he should not be considered a DLC Pack.
what im getting at is it didnt take as long or take as much effort to build jack or the holo dome as it did with any of the other DLCs
jack they took a existing model added skill tree with buffs and action skill with friendly computer jacks to attack enemyâs. it was probably pretty easy to figure that code since they had gaige and deathtrap to base it off
I wonder if it isnât time to re-broach this subject with GB. I mean itâs a game engine that is old by most standards and if they ARENâT going to do any more development on the seriesâŚperhaps this would be a very low cost way to continue interest/sales on their part
And it would be fabulous for the fan base.
I can see it nowâŚ
My own modâŚmade by one each old timer ex grunt.
Entitled: âCusterâs Last Stand on ElpisâŚand Custer was not a good guyâŚâ
Yes. I really enjoyed TPS. It had loads of new stuff that shouldâve been in BL 2. It also had better balance. Though, some of the new stuff didnât work out. But most did. I really enjoyed TPS and specially the Claptrap DLC.
A song about Custer. Because why not?
2k aus worked on the dlc.
After the game release, a 2K Aus employee was interviewed and said they had a week off and were now back at work on the story DLC. Also in an interview with Randy Pitchford, he said that he was blown away by the story DLC concept put to him by 2K Aus, so I would say that 2K Aus was very much involved with Claptastic creation.
And yet, what Iâve seen of Battleborn it looks like a complete waste of everyoneâs time.
I find more interesting and way better skills at least to me than Aurelia, shes fun and all, but Jack has such versatility to his gameplay, its bordering on insane. Hes far from just being hashed together.
