No not at all. When those abilities are thrown they are to help teammates.
When Ernest throws egg its to help himself kill you faster.

[/quote]Then theyāre not going to be doing much and most of their grenades will end up exploding against some wall in the background. Actually hitting consistently with him at a reasonable distance is pretty tricky, much trickier than with a hitscan weapon.
If youāre getting consistently hit by an Ernest and youāre not standing knee-deep in your creep wave, trust me, said Ernest is not just spamming to land those shots.
Ernest can impact the game quite a bit without actually hitting me. Iām not complaining that Iām dying or getting damaged by Ernest a lot. That rarely happens. I can see them coming and avoid them (especially if Iām using my Caldarius or Phoebe with speed build). As others have said, Ernest can clear waves with little to no effort (citing the example I gave above about where you can stand on overgrowth and clear minion lanes without actually seeing a minion). Did it take skill to find that cheese spot? Sure okay I guess if you want to say so.
Again, there are good Ernest players and there are cheese Ernest players. The good Ernest players are 1000x more valuable to their team than the cheesers. The same would be true for a lot of other characters than can be annoying (Pendles, for instance). Iāve repeatedly said my beef is with the cheesers and the fact that in my experience they outnumber the non-cheesers 5 to 1. There is no one easier to cheese with than Ernest right now and that was the original thought I conveyed in this thread.

As far as Ernest cheese goes though, he is never in a spot whereās heās ENTIRELY unreachable. Pendles, Thorn or Marquis are the best way to deal with him, because to cheese buildables or sentries with Ernest requires a good team, and mid control.
Granted, he really shouldnāt be able to do it, but what can I say? Sh*t sucks. If heās causing problems, just get a sniper to bug him a little, or Pendles to scare him off. Heās always vulnerable to something, you just gotta find it, and exploit it, the guyās standing still, after all. xD

With all due respect, you can use those abilities to only kill enemies as well. is it smart? no but it CAN BE DONE
But it is still a team support deployable. A selfish Ernest doesnāt work out as well as a selfish Kleese.

Alani wasnāt that problematic imo.
At release? lol Yeah she was actually cancer. Now? No, sheās fine now.
What I mean, is release Alani compared to release Ernest. She wasnāt as impactful on the game (yes she was still a lot). Especially since heās not getting nerfed, compared to alani who got the first nerf in two weeks iirc. Imo we havenāt seen as problematic as current ernest since beta.

Ernest isnāt OP honestly. The only problem Iāve got with him is his base attack speed (just a liiiiiiiiiiiiittle too fast. Iām talking like, less than 10% too fast, itās almost perfect.) and his ability to cheese, but literally all they have to do is add invisible walls, or shorten the fuse time, and heāll be fine on that front.
The trick is coordinating with your team to take out his egg and focus fire. Without his egg, he dies easy.
