Ava and Tannis gaining siren powers , the Eridian Proving Grounds, Moxxi reappropriating the Jackpot and possibly an entire Hyperion loader factory , and we’re only now reuniting with the other vault hunters in the DLCs. Paul Sage said he was excited to talk about Athena but he can’t yet. The timekeeper. Most of BL3’s story looks like set-up for something bigger.
Regardless of how much I don’t like the main campaign, I’ve started to appreciate all the lore they’ve sprinkled throughout. The Proving Grounds dialogue legit gave me goosebumps. Us becoming the new guardians of the vault? That sounds extremely interesting. I want to be cautious about it though so I don’t get disappointed, but I hope I’m not just “overanalysing” and all of this is connected somehow and pays off.

Why would he think Athena and Janey are running Hyperion?!? Oh I’d love to see them both back but I can’t see how that would make sense.

Same lol, I havent watched the entire thing but I’m guessing its because the guns have shields? I don’t think Athena/Janey would ever want to run a corporation tho, especially Hyperion. Janey has a business and they seem like they just want to settle down.

I feel like Gearbox threw out the “war is coming” plot completely in favor of what we got in BL3. They’ve been downplaying the stories of TPS and Tales a lot since the Lilith DLC, likely because they didn’t fully make those games.
Think I remember them saying somewhere that this game is setting up for the war, suggesting that Borderlands 4 (or whatever it’s called) would be the war.
There’s a bunch of endgame dialogue that hints at what is coming. Especially the proving grounds.

To me, it sounds like the Guardian at the gate is just jerking you around by saying that YOU are the Guardians now.
I doubt we’re ever going to see the war, because Gearbox knows there’s no way they’re going to meet expectations for it and so they’re likely not even going to bother.
