Are you a robot or not? Prove it![Pictures of You!]

If that was supposed to be peace sign or ‘V’ for victory salute, it’s facing the wrong way. If, on the other hand, it was meant to be an alternative to ‘giving the finger’ well, carry on.

different cultures have different meaning on hand signal. I think it is frowned in others but for us it is just a peace sign (regardless of positioning).

so Peace! :v:

@VaultHunter101 I put clarification, to avoid any further misunderstanding.

Just don’t do it that way if you ever find yourself in the UK, Australia, or New Zealand…

Oh wow, I totally didn’t know this. Locally, it smells like a gang sign, especially when held sideways like that. I find these regional sign-language dialects rather fascinating. Hailing from (central, rural) California, here are ones that I actively use (maybe a few times a week):

  • :fu: middle finger (to show dislike for something inanimate, like a rock I tripped over, or the nail stuck in my bike tire - never thrown at a person unless I’m very familiar with that person (there are like two on the entire planet), in which case it takes on about the same meaning as sticking my tongue out at them.

  • :+1: thumbs up (to show light approval for something, like the equivalent of saying “yes”).

  • :metal: “horns” but with the back of my hand facing forward; palm facing forward and/or with the two fingers splayed outward is for metal heads. (My friends and I use this to show heavy approval for something, like the equivalent of saying, “■■■■ yeah!”. This is about right, but with the thumb tucked in:

Also : :ok_hand: - which around here is “ok” but in some places means vaffanculo and in others means zero. Hot tip : best not to use this while traveling.

My favourite ever use of a v-sign:

The last time I remember using it (seriously at least) was after a group of guys shouted some horrible stuff at me late one night. Fortunately they’d all turned around so it passed without incident.

OT (totally me)
