Knowing Gearbox, it’s going to be a farming competition mode. Something like doing The Hunt on BL2.

whatever it is I know it won’t reignite my long term interest in the game. only fixing the existing problems will do that, not throwing in more broken content

I hope it’s nothing like GTD and has no timed events. I hate those events. Whatever it is, it will break something else in the game (power/gameplay/bugs).

My prediction: it’ll alienate console players cuz console network co op is the worst it’s ever been to play anything smoothly.
I’m guessing it’ll be trash on console.

Wasn’t planning on getting the new skill trees but I’m really excited for this. There are so many ways it could go though. I can’t wait to find out more.
It will be difficult to compete if GBX doesn’t implement some mod/cheat sanity check. I don’t wanna play with my friends. I wanna squash pubs but in a “legal” way lol.

Considering everything else that has been thrown our way with this game I don’t see it going over well, not to mention what will it break in the process. BL3 has been nothing short of one step forward two steps back.

A mode where you que up and get dropped into a PVE scenario akin to zombies in COD with loot instead of buying guns off walls, maybe a random weapon chest-
That would be neat I think, depending on how much you can progress and what would be the tip top tier goal rewards.
It’s gotta have some semblance of longevity, maybe bring back seraph crystals with a arms race specific vending machine.

I wonder what’s the reward for playing in this mode to the main mode? From what I understand the new class mod only drops from this new mode.
Also how does it make every gun matter? If you start with no guns then definitely any legendary you get is better than nothing but that doesn’t mean it really makes the gun matter. If there’s a challenge in this mode that the only way to pass and beat enemies is to use let’s say a tediore pistol, then that might matter. But does it really matter if it’s just a mean of bypassing one obstacle? It’s no different with finding a key to unlock a chest.

I wonder how they could balance something like this. When I imagine I’ll have to start with no gunz on flak or zane it might be difficult if nothing useable drops.
Comparing to amara with ttb or moze with IB,

I actually thought about this and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an entirely separate game all together. Probably similar to fortnite I remember it use to be a pve zombie survival type game and they tacked battle royale to that game using the same assets as a separate mode. I feel gbx might do something similar and probably heavily restrict the abilities of the Vault Hunters so its way more balance while reusing gun models but, making sure they are not as crazy as they are in the base game mode.
Randy said it won’t be a battle royale and something entirely new. Come on people.

This would be really cool, but it wouldn’t work that well considering how powerful Iron Bear is just by investing your skill points intelligently. Not sure what the other Vault Hunters can pull off with 0 gear.
But I love the idea of starting with 0 inventory and seeing how far you can get just on skill alone

Yeah I’m not too sure on how action skills would be implemented.
They could do something where using your action skill costs a certain kind of currency that you can only get in the new mode. And in order to get that currency you have to kill enemies.
So that way, you still have to play with whatever gear you get and depending on how well you play would determine how often you could use your action skill.
Something like that so you just can’t spam your AS and win
