Attack Speed Gear Nerf

Fair enough, but if the unique ability is bad, that’s an entirely different issue. Just don’t use it. Honestly, most of the character legendaries could use some love, IMO. A few of them are outstanding, though.

It’s not eyes. It’s our brains. Unless you’re not a human, I’m not lumping you into a group that you don’t explicitly belong to. And, no, people aren’t that different; that’s the entire point of physiology and psychology. We’re way more similar than we are different.

It has been tested extensively. People are basically incapable of accurately telling a difference below a 10% variance threshold.

Sorry but I just don’t believe that. We will have to agree to disagree.

Do you mind cleaning this up @Tokesy97 ? I would rather this thread stay on topic without the silly responses.

Apparently, you disagree with science…[/quote]

Wikipedia? Everyone knows everything on there is a LIE!

You know what? I’m gonna just go ahead and alter the Weber-Fechner law so that now it has to do with the deliciousness of varying kinds of cheesecakes…

Well, I could link you to numerous scholarly articles confirming it, but that seemed like overkill.

As for on-topic, if GBX felt like attack speed needed to come down, I believe them. They also buffed crit damage and skill damage, so this strikes me as a classic balance move.

I love Legendaries. Main reason: unique abilities. It’s not about the buffs, it’s about the things that ONLY Legendaries let you do.

Heck, I’d run Vyn’s Quiver or Boots of the Brute without ANY stat boosts just to get Slow every X seconds because I can’t get that anywhere else. Or Stable Executioner/Mag Daemon turning non-crits into crits.

Some just mimic other abilities, like Deande’s own Fan of the Retreat allowing Shields to recharge by a skill trigger, which many other BB have… but she doesn’t. She adds that whole extra USEFUL trick to her bag.

As for costs, I do have some quibbles. I’d welcome them reducing Legendary costs, and I also don’t think ALL Legendaries should be 1800. Non-max ones should cost less, just like regular gear, and I think some less potent Legendaries should be 1400 or 1200 at max, maybe, and some should be 2000 or maybe even more (perhaps even my beloved Vyn’s Quiver. That thing is GOOD!)

I’m a big believer in game balance, and I trust the devs to keep that in mind when making these calls.

Nah, I gotcha. I haz sarcazms.

The gear nerf really will only affect mid/late game scaling, particularly if youre properly stacking, but it wont be so harsh. Im not exactly thrilled on the nerf but its nothing to fret over. Attack speed really is the best stat for any melee so keeping it in check is fine, we will see how it plays out.

Edit: Attack Damage nerf was slightly uncalled for but meh

Not only great on melee but characters who have a projectiles (Alani, Deande, Orendi etc)

Agreed, thats why it should be brought back a tad. Maybe they did too much, as I said, Im not entirely thrilled about it; My Caldarius will feel the slows late-game, that melee is so clunky… Regardless, thats a hero issues and not a gear issue

I wouldn’t have minded .5% nerf at all.

So them nerfing attack speed is kind of like a test?

The good news is that skill damage gets a buff. I had a cheap skill damage that only did 7.00. Now it does 9.10. That buff is going to save my life more than ever.

Attack speed and damage may have taken a hit, but it’s not gigantic. There is enough gear that offers it that you can easily build both up again through different types.

To me, the skill damage buff is enough to make me happy.

The skill damage buff was really nice! Although I do wish the stats would affect the numbers on the skills when you look at the them. For example, Burst dash does 200 damage and when you unlock the gear I dont think the bonus doesnt change that number. I am a number person lol

Agreed. That would be a fantastic QoL change.

Total numerical transparency would be absolutely wonderful, especially where stacks and unnumbered effects are concerned (like what’s the -dam on Pacifier).

100% agree with the above.

Also, sub-max-stats legendaries shouldn’t cost the same as max-stats legendaries. The benefit is always reflected in the cost for all lower-ranked gear; it should be reflected in legis, too. Of course, the (immutable) 3rd-tier special ability of the legi should mean legi gear always costs more than lower-ranked gear - but again, lower-performance gear should reflect its performance in its cost.

Yes, and this too.

<- Also a numbers guy.
