Referring to the obviously horrendous 12 charged fist critical to Rendain’s face challenge. So has anyone found a sound way of accomplishing this? I only have played through as Attikus once but my strategy was to run up as soon as I saw him and tap the secondary attack towards his face. I got in several strikes this way but no critical hits so nothing was accomplished lore wise. Do I have to charge it fully, is there another place I should aim for?
When I first did the Heliophage I managed to get 2 critical hits on Rendain. I fully charged both hits which was annoying because of the constant knockbacks. I read somewhere that the best way to do it is to wait until his shield goes down at the beginning of the fight where he’s hunched over and start spamming your secondary. I haven’t tried this yet but it is the only point when he isn’t moving much. Keep trying please and tell me what works for you.
I don’t think it needs to charged, it just needs to be the ‘charged hook’ ability.
Did this one quickly and easily. Just fully charge it and aim for his head.
Don’t attempt to do it until his second phase, because it’s not possible to headshot (aka crit) things that have a shield active. Once Rendain is out in the shieldless phase, just keep using charged hook and hit his head. Easy.
From my experiance, hitting him in the head is goddamn near impossible. His head hitbox is so tiny, even when the redicle is directly on him, it doesn’t crit.
I must’ve hit him 100 times in the face with the charged hook, but to no avail.
Ok, most of my hits admittedly were when he first shows up, because he’s not throwing me backwards constantly. I don’t know how to effectively close the gap in the final battle because he spams those spinning blades that toss you into the low atmosphere. Hell most of the downs to our team were from flying off the level rather than being beaten down.
Maybe I’ll try it with my go go juice on so I can run back to him faster.
You can actually crit him just once right at the end of the shield phase.
And in the final phase, I found I can crit him more easily when he turns around. If I’m to his left, he turns around and sticks his head right out on the left of my screen where I can nail him in the face.
