Australian Servers Issues (Post Your Data Here)

I never EVER once thought this was done intentionally. It has just come across as if there was a lack of urgency or concern when the issue was first brought to light. Given Australian’s player base would be extremely small in comparison and a number of people have returned the game already my concern now is will they fix it if the issue requires a major outlay in time and effort?

Sorry, I have misunderstood your stance on this issue then. When this issue was first brought to light is still debatable though. Did they know prior to release? That would imply it was intentionally released as a broken product. From what my own experience these issues weren’t present in the beta and GBX were not aware until this thread initially popped up on here and the complaints came in.

I’m also aware that other people’s experiences were different. They had issues during the beta and voiced their concerns.

Valid concerns, and I can understand why you would have them. I guess I’m just not concerned that GBX will sweep this under the rug and ignore the issues though. This is a huge problem for us, I know, but there are also a lot of other complaints about other issues with the game that also need resolving. GBX have their own list of priorities

I’m not angry, just sad that the playerbase is by now permanently diminished. Perhaps even to the point that even if region locking were added, I’d have to play on US servers anyway.

Instead of giving up, I took the opposite approach and have become One With The Lag, switching from Reyna to the character I really wanted to play: Mellka. I can’t do some of the basic moves, like jumping and claw lunging (the input delay means I’ve already hit ground by the time claw lunge triggers.) Leading a target involves a certain amount of psychic ability, my grenade and spike rarely apply poison to a moving enemy, and blade launcher delays make me cry pretty Eldrid tears.

But hell. I’m clawing out a play style that kinda sorta works. I topped score a few games, went 9-2 once, and forced myself to smile every time I tried to lunge for high ground and lurched into a wall instead. I’m just roleplaying drunk Mellka, right? I’m going to bump into walls, miss easy shots, stumble out of spawn, blurt out my true feelings for Deande…

Would love to sober up sometime soon, though.

Also: cute anecdote. I landed in a green bar game yesterday. All Australians, I guess, except for two red bar US players on my team. Just as I was getting excited, the US players both quit, leaving it 3v5. We lost badly. It says a lot that it was still one of the most fun games of the night, and that I racked up more kills than I ever had. Sigh.

Can you all please send a message to EB Games Australia on your connection issues with this game. Go to the customer service page, then either send email or phone. Please make comment that the game should be pulled from Australian shelves until a fix is issued. The game is an online experience and is not working as intended. It is unplayable. Please take the 5 mins to do this. Upper Management will not move unless we get some support.

Not knowing they were delivering a faulty product is one thing but not being very transparent about what they are doing (if anything can be done) to fix it is another. Maybe by being more forthcoming they could avoid a potential class action lawsuit down the track. Department of Fair Trading also does not take kindly to products sold that dont deliver.

Define very transparent, in your own opinion. They have told us that they have acknowledged the issues and are looking into it. I don’t expect or need any more than that. At the end of the day they are a private company and have the right to either withhold or divulge their troubleshooting processes to the public/consumers. It’s up to the customer to whether they accept that fact

I paid $100 for this game on PS store I can’t refund. All I can do is get mad post on here calm down and try again. If I could refund I wouldn’t have ever posted. I should be able to refund cause it doesn’t work. People saying don’t get mad your so outta place considering I worked 8 hours to make 100 to buy this and I can’t even get 8 hours of enjoyable anything on it, I can’t refund it. I can’t do anything but solo story. So unable to play or refund I’d say people have earned the right to tell them where to go and how to do repeatedly. Quick note i don’t care if it’s weekend wanna be a good company, don’t realise faulty products that don’t work wanna be even better if you do realise faulty products that don’t work. Work through your free time to fix the MAJOR issues show gamers that your care that much and maybe they will cut you slack. If I smash a pipe at work I gotta say and fix it even past my 8 hour day.

Take it up with Sony. They’re the ones who won’t refund you

I am surprised they have not yet halted sales in Australia and other affected regions. This problem has gone on far too long to be acknowledged as a software glitch, its now entering into the realm of fixing a design flaw that should have been identified in the public beta. Basically they are now selling a product with a major flaw that seriously prevents it from being used in its intended way.

Correct. Therefore, we now must focus pressure on the distributors of the product. Please make them aware. I’ve sent a lengthy email to EB games who followed it up with a phone call today. I’m now approaching Sony Australia re the PS Store.
Would suggest others do same, to prevent this happening to others.

Looks like they reset a Batttleborn server a few hours ago as there is a serious dip in player numbers only on Battleborn according to Steam Charts, maybe they have a potential fix.

I don’t disagree at all

BUT

GBX have been around long enough to know that pulling the game temporarily is an option. You would assume that because they are aware of said option, that they have not pulled the game yet because they don’t believe that option to be in their best interest. Assumptions aside, we have no idea why they haven’t pulled the game yet. For all we know they have a fix ready to go in a few days.

I also agree that more communication from the devs would be great. But they are still a private game development company that are under a lot of pressure to the get this game on the right path. This isn’t the only issue they are trying to fix, even if it is the most important one to us.

Passive threats won’t get us anywhere.

I’m just annoyed with this thread honestly though. It started with people sharing complaints which got the devs attention. We were notified that they were going to look into it. @JoeKGBX has notified is that they’re still looking into it (so we haven’t been forgotten). But now this thread has devolved into a place for aggressive, abusive, and threatening posters to vent. This behaviour will not fix anything any faster, nor make the devs take interest in your opinion. If you don’t have any new data to provide in helping fix the problem then why bother posting destructive and pointless messages?

^that last bit is not directed specifically at you either @DontPanic

I understand. My comment was made as an observation not anything else. I think it is important to point out that if the problem was fixed and people still carried on maybe your comment was valid. There are a lot of unhappy customers who have been building up to the moment this game came out and to find out after we pay a higher per dollar amount on the game than in the US and they basically stay mum about what is going on as to why we cant play it then certainly makes it feel like we are second class citizens down under and that we should just be happy to get what we get when we eventually get it. Australian nature is all about a fair go but there comes a point when we develop a gutful from poor customer service.

The point of telling you how I brought it is so you knew I cannot refund and that all I can do now is wait and aee and for someone who personally spent 8 hours at work to buy it. I have to right to be upset just on here an vent in fact it’s all I can do. It sucks Sony won’t refund but it’s well known they won’t so it’s not an issue I knew I wasn’t going to be able to refund. What I didn’t know is that the game is unplayable which sure is the bigger issue.

Please do vent as much as you desire. It is your right. But riddling posts with swear words will force me to flag them.

I want everything you say to be heard and considered, as I assure you the dev staff have done, but that language doesn’t assist the process. It only works to dishearten people who I can assure you are breaking a sweat to get everything resolved.

Only giving this game about a week untill I go and trade it in. They better act quick because I know a lot of my friends and most of Australians will be getting a different game.

My apologies I’m from a mining town swearing is common and I wasn’t thinking about that as I was posting. I fixed it up but if it still needs to be taken down feel free to sorry again!

As that MOD said above, it’s our right to vent.

For me personally I think GBX have missed the boat not catching this before release. There’s also other problems such as matchmaking with people well above your level, it just comes off as lazy.

Shame, could’ve been a good game.

I have no concern for level differences. You have the option to go play PVE content to learn character abilities. I think I spent the first 35 levels in pve content, unlocking all the characters, learning tactics and unlocking gear. The lag also detered me from public versus games. As I said to a QQ user on this forum in another post, either get good or make friends. It’s that easy and really they are both literally easy. I really hope they are not dedicating time to the “bads” to appease them and develop skill match making whilst public matches are unplayable for almost an entire nation. Anyone in OZ up for private versus matches or advanced/hardcore story on XB1? Private matches are lag free

You may have no concerns but I do when I’ve completed the campaign (despite the disconnections and lag) and am lvl 11 coming up against people who are lvl 100…so in my opinion that isn’t right and it’s lazy matchmaking mechanics.
