I agree, Troy is harder than Tyreen. lol
My knuckle still has a skinned place from punching things during my many attempts and failures to beat Troy lol Hardest boss in the game imo.
Just hit level 17and I’m still dying there. Part of it is I’ve just not found decent shock weapons, so it takes me forever to get his shield down and I frequently run out of ammo doing so. I regret now that didn’t spec railgun on Iron Bear at all. I’ve also been extremely unlucky with the ads - gotten so close a couple of times but when I needed an easy kill for a revive, nothing.
I’m actually finding BL3 easier than BL2. In BL2 I was always getting my butt handed to me by enemies 5 or more levels lower than me. On the other hand I found BL:TPS probably a little too easy. I’d place BL3’s difficulty half way between BL2 and BL:TPS. It’s fairly perfect for my play capabilities.
i found the game easy, i was literally destroying the enemies the whole way through, only died once through my first playthrough.
are you skipping the side quests? are you using bad guns (tediore)? or maybe you need a better shield?
idk, i found the game much easier then BL2, hell, even mayham 3 is more balanced then borderlands 2’s ultimate vault hunter mode, were a rak could one shot you.
try getting a hyperion SMG, they are super powerfull, not quite OP, but they work quite well.
Yeah it feels easier than BL2 when running the story but as soon as you get to level 50 and the endgame modes you’ll have a hard time, especially solo. Just as dream says do side quests and the crew location challenges give some good xp too.
for me he spammed his floor ult randomly in stage 2 of the fight. jumping did nothing since he would sometimes run them back to back. on normal…
yeah, Solo Siren, elemental tree, traunt’s floor effects are stupid, there’s cover but he’ll force you to keep moving.
I don’t know what to tell you man. I didn’t have very decent shock weapons around until I got the Redistributor. Then again I did play Moze my first time through so I probably got hard carried by the Mech (and you don’t need railgun to do good damage against shields. What I did is that I spec’d down Demolition woman to get the first few Fuel and Cool down perks then started going down with the Bottomless Mag tree and using the Miniguns shreds everything in just a couple of seconds) but even with Fl4k and Zane I didn’t have much of a problem. Obviously Amara is always good since her action skill is default shock.
I’ve got Demolition Woman specced pretty heavily, down to Stainless Steel Bear - probably should have diversified more. I’m thinking the splash damage boosts might have been a good idea? Got some good explosive/fire/radiation weapons at least.
I’ll give it another shot tonight. Pretty close to levelling up again, so I might just run back and mob for a bit to get that extra skill point.
I didn’t even spec into any splash damage stuff and I’ve been fine. I have the first middle skill maxed out, the right skill at 2 points then went down to Stainless Steel bear and maxed that out then just got Auto Bear. After that I realized that I really struggled with ammo consumption so I went down Bottomless Mags. I really only used Vladof guns on my first run but with my second Moze I’m going for more of a Torgue-centric and Splash damage build.
I’ll try again tonight. If worst comes to worst, I’ll just cheese it.
I vehemently disagree. I found this game to be much easier than BL2, and I’m playing on normal mode. I feel like the balance and difficulty are comparable to that of BL1. What build are you currently using?
The game is definitely harder than BL2 in my opinion just… not by much. I think the simple mentality of “strength with numbers” made mobbing itself slightly more difficult but honestly the bosses in this game are just super easy imo. To me bosses felt like “Hey uh we have attacks that look like they should instakill you but literally only do like 70% of your shield lol also there’s health vials in literally every ammo box”
For example Graveward and his megaton fire laser that he shoots from his chest. That attack looks like it should immediately drop your shields and health but it doesn’t do anything really. Takes 60% shields and gives you a very slight burn DOT
Quite frankly, the best thing to do is “git gud”. Pay attention to enemy attack patterns, avoid whatever attacks are avoidable, pay attention to enemy weaknesses and exploit them, grind for appropriately-leveled loot, use elemental weapons that will have an advantage, and most importantly, STAY MOBILE. Just be aware and attentive of what’s going on arround you, and you’ll be fine.
you can shoot the skulls he spits out for a second wind.
Got him on the first try tonight - finally! Touch and go at one point, but the ads were close enough and I also grabbed a second wind off one of those balls as it came around the corner.
Update to say I also got K’s Ball on the third try. Found it quite a lot easier in NVHM than Traunt. I found you could stay in the elevator behind the control column for a little bit before the AI would drop down and shoot fireballs in at you, at which point it was play chase around around some of the bigger fixtures between the stair cases.
Yes. They made it so freakin unbalanced where Mozes action skill is only one what makes sence and does damage. Hop in to Ireon Bear and clear room or save your self while all other skills are garbage and no survivability. Katagava sphere i downed in about minute with Moze without any death, cos most damage was done in bear…yet Zane and its useless double dies from one shot and doesnt do any damage to that sphere. They didnt even try to balace a bit those chars, just randomly slap some useless ■■■■ like Zanes double(that doesnt hold agrro) or useless Fl4ks pets that suck as bad as Zanes double and all that without any decent survivability - Where Moze has all on a longer cooldown - but her cooldown allows you to clear room or save yourself from death whil other action skills are total ■■■■.
You are playing Moze…please try Zane and tell me how git good you are!
I play as FL4K RN and I feel the balance jumps around a lot but the hardest boss fight for me was Kategawa Jr. That fight irritated the hell outta me cause of the damn sniper clones and the generators being some of the only good cover yet also ripping apart my shield like a postage stamp and having nothing to quickly kill for a revive.
I was leveled, geared and did all the prep work possible at the time but still turned on easy to kill him(Kudos, KJ). Funny cause after that I’ve had more trouble with badasses/annointed than bosses including the AG9000(downed but NEVER out, lot of prey here for a 2nd wind but my skag was stuck in a wall so I was truly alone) and Troy(
he sucks SOOO BAD I spent most of that fight with at least 70% HP but he did break my shield a lot) Haven’t fought Ty yet cause I’m busy exploring and stuff but I have a feeling I’ma mop her up, too lol. Right now it feels like every boss fight is just two tanks dueling in an MMO game. I’ve done that several times and it’s a long, tedious, fantastical-looking fight for a rather unsatisfying win. Bosses are not too “bossy” except KJ if you ask me. Not new to the games really, OP10 all my VH in BL2. What I truly suck at in this game is sniping. Sticky aim is TOO sticky, handling mostly crap, kinda low damage on crits unless I fade away. I’m hoping Guardian ranks will help with that but I gotta finish the dumb story first so I switched to Shotguns instead and built myself for regen. Best decision I ever made cause now it’s like
Godmode:
In comparison to how it was trying to be a sniper. I missed fewer shots with 200 Anarchy as Gaige FFS lol.
