So, now that I have all this great bank space, I decided to dump stuff from various characters back into the bank and get rid of duplicates… basic cleanup.

However, I noticed when I sort the bank by “type”, it isn’t actually grouping like guns together. The same type of gun will still be scattered all through the bank, making quick comparisons much harder. Is sort by type working in some way other than the obvious, or is this just broken?

It has been broken and still is. Sorting of any kind (by type, manufacturer, score) was broken from the day 1 and still is. Now, one has to wonder… if a simple thing like that is still broken, what else is that we do not know or are not aware off? Get you act together, GB… fix the base game first then start dishing out add-ons. I know, it’s wishful thinking but oh well…

Bank sorting works for me. I just threw around 40 items into my bank and tested this, everything was sorted by type. I’m running this on PC, so I’m unsure if it’s a bug on consoles or I’m just getting lucky. Or did you mean the already grouped items, like pistols, arn’t sorted by like name or something?

I just realized it is sorting by gun, shield, grenade when it is sorting by type. However, when you throw 300 items into a bank, this is not helpful at all. You still have 200 randomly sorted guns, or whatever… they really need to break this down into “type”, like the type of gun, type of shield, etc… for fast comparisons. Otherwise the bank is just a mess.

I guess second order sorting is a bridge too far. It’s great that all the guns are together, but i guess it’s too much to ask that three Maggies or two Laser-Sploders or four Kaos rifles should be…Right. Next. To. Each. Other.

I’m not near my computer right now but I think within categories it sorts by gear score. Not helpful. I stopped looking at that number about five playthroughs ago

Correct, gear of the same class are sorted by score not alphabetically; by the type title then by prefix. Now that would be nice but compared to what was before, it’s much better now. At least all pistols or ARs or shotguns are in their respective groups.

I think they should change the sort option to instead be a filter, so when you switch it to pistols for example it will only show your pistols, or only show your tediore weapons, etc.

It’s still doing the weird wrong picture overlay when sorting through your backpack…

I don’t understand why item management isn’t one of the priority in a looter.

It includes a clear UI, easy understanding of the inventory, many sorting options and… having more than 8 items being seen at once.
It also allow the player to actually sort manualy his/her inventory.

Would it be too much to ask to have different tabs and manual sorting ?

Maybe you want all your pistol together. Maybe you want your relics and CM together. Maybe you want to have a tab to store the loadout of a specific build.
Maybe you just want to have the choice of how it’s sorted.

Look at pokémon. The core mecanic are the same, gotta catch them all, gotta loot them all. Same thing really.
You have a bank called the pc ingame (and a bank called the pokébank online as 5$ yearly service too as of gen 7).
In it, you have 30 different tab where you can manualy sort your collection. There’s a reseach option to quickly serch for “types, lv, name, ect…”. You can even change how each box/tab look to make it even more easy to navigate. And you can name it.

It’s ok to copy other game that works you know.

Yeah… I hate that. I’ve sold the wrong item before because of that.

That wa introduced with gen 6, but yes. 100% agree… and while we’re at it, maybe a form of the gts would be great too :crossed_fingers:

Knowing gearbox, they’d try to emulate the gts but would end up with the D3 auction house fiasco.

And a bugged one where you pay with real money and the loot get lost in the matrix XD
