BAR & BAR Perks Discussion

My back up is my cloud save that I uploaded from my 360 when I first transfered my saves over to my xb1. All I have to do is download that cloud save and problem solved. I just get to spend a grip of time redistributed my points again. [quote=“leonerog, post:120, topic:1350037”]
Is it as simple using USB stick?

You can use a USB I suppose. I don’t because I use my cloud save.

beat me to it was going to say both of us has the 360 still so just a matter of retransferring a save over through the cloud.

not sure about game saves on the Xbox one, but would think a USB would work

My problem is the majority of my BAR was accumulated while playing on the one. I have a 360 cloud save but the BAR wasn’t close to what I have now.

I’ll try to see if I can save game files onto my external drive. Or I could cross my fingers and hope it never happens to me.

I would use the USB for the back up if you don’t have the cloud save as a viable option. That’s what I would do anyways. Before the xb1, I used a USB for my back up.

Well having been playing bl1 a lot recently I’d like bl3 to have a combanation of both bar and proficiencys. Maybe bar for shield/grenades/health and maybe a new feature like movement speed. But the proficiencys would need to be adjusted for things like launchers

For completing the Melee BAR Challenges, especially on TPS I have found it quickest to complete both by equipping a bladed gun, Entering NVHM and using the “Capture a Guardian” mission (which again can also be used to complete a multitude of other BAR Challenges), in BL 2 it is the same except that I use the BarRoom Brawl

Hmmm, there is a method I use in BL 2, in the W.E.P. that I use to complete some BAR Challenges for Guns, but the explanation of it would be to much of a spoiler, so all I can say is it involves Bloodwing’s Head and firing guns.

Yes, I know what you mean. Works until I run out of ammo lol

just had a thought. I wonder if melee will work, say using a bladed weapon, (talking WEP and Bloodwing), if so, seems to me (unless you get bored easy ) that the 2 melee BAR Challenges could be maxed out right there. May have to ck this out if I can find one of my toons ready for this part of the storyline.

thought about this when I remembered the 2 Bruisers in the firehawk mission that can be used for critical hits (again all I can say without adding in spoilers)

Any word on if the melee on blood wings head works?

still looking for a toon ready for that mission that and got a little busy doing work around the house, will post the results as soon as I get them

No worries, take your time.

Well, got a Toon to BloodWing in BL 2 and tried Melee with both a Bladed Gun and without, and no it does not work for the Melee BAR Challenges.

And thinking about it, this is the conclusion I came to, the Melee BAR challenges will only progress per kill, so killing Bloodwing and meleeing him before picking up the mod for claptrap will not work because you are not “Killing” anything, unlike the “Capture a Guardian” mission in TPS where you are meleeing and killing the Guardians as fast as they spawn (side note; using a bladed gun for this counts for both “Melee” and “Melee w/Bladed Gun”).

Bloodwing does however count toward “Critical” Hits for any Gun that has a “Critical Hit BAR Challenge”, as for kills for any Gun, I believe those will not count for the same reason that I gave for Melee.

If anyone has notes to the contrary of what I have said please post, as I want the best information available for all.

This is what I’ve noticed as well. Whenever I get to Bloodwing, I shoot it in the head until I’m out of ammo for those BAR challenges, but the critical hit ones are the only ones that ever make progress from this method.

of note, an Infinity can be used for the Pistol Critical Hit challenge, so that particular challenge can be maxed out without running out of pistol ammo, as for the other guns yes you can only go until you run out of ammo and can’t find anymore in the boxes or crates scattered about.

though thinking about it, technically, I believe you could run back to a ammo machine refill your ammo and complete the other critical hit challenges that way, but that would take up a lot of time that may be better spent elsewhere

pulls @Kurtdawg13 back into the discussion as he may have a few insights

I usually use running out of ammo as a way of being able to say “ok I’ve spent enough time on this, let’s move on”.

That’s how I know its time for me to leave lol.
Does anyone know the best place to find nomads with midgets on their shields? Bloodshot strong hold?

Sorry gentlemen. i have known, unfortunately.

am I to believe you can get critical hits off bloodwing after her head explodes? if so, i was unaware of this trick.

sawtooth and southpaw come to mind.

You could farm Bad Maw. I think his shield gives you 3-for-1.
