I’m watching the TI5, so i’ll watch the video later, but i just stopped to look at Benedict’s gameplay.
Flipping nice.
Now i need the full Helix, and more details on his skills… And a Beta access (Because i won’t be able to go to Gamescom…)

Wow. sounds like you had a great time, i’m jealous.
Did Caldarius’ double jump make it easier to manoeuvre around enemies or more confusing?

Thanks for sharing, MentalMars. Lots of new info to consider. Equipment that directly effects the other team’s shields and such? Things could get very interesting… :sunglasses:

[/quote]At tier 5 i chose for speed. but i used this getting across the map. i could handle the enemies with my special abilities. use the flashbang to blind them and get in for the kill. small enemies are down with one or 2 strikes. bigger enemies i needed to use the other ability as well.

This is new too. A center skill? I think Randy said something about being able to enable new abilities in between matches. Not sure if this is using gear or if it because command rank is high or what. Something to look forward to though.

lol. :bllol:
yeah, i think they’re the things unlocked by character rank (, 10 levels for 10 helix skills).

balancing for this game must be hell.
one change to one character and suddenly…

Reyna shooting her gun sideways really hurts me…

Really like Ambra. Still maining Thorn but damn. The character designs is inspiring. Kind of wish you asked me for some character design work.

I too wasn’t exactly thrilled upon noticing that design choice. In fact, I immediately started wondering if that was something that I could maybe just learn to live with if I played her or if it would be a sort of “deal breaker”…

Then it hit me though - this isn’t Borderlands. In Borderlands the games shipped with only four characters so you (or at least I and others I know) had to accept that you probably weren’t going to like everything about a given character. Maybe you liked the play style of a character but hated the voice or appearance. Perhaps you were interested in the skill trees but the action skill didn’t work for you. If you wanted to play a melee character you had one option per game at launch…

This is Battleborn though! We’re getting 25 characters right off the bat with multiple characters able to cover each playstyle. Going back to a previous example, what if you want to play a melee character but don’t like Dwarves? Well Boldur’s out, but you still have (at least) Rath and Phoebe as possibilities. I’ve seen some people here and elsewhere talk about not liking Orendi’s voice, Benedict’s ultimate, the size of Oscar Mike’s weapon and more. That’s fine - everyone’s going to have different opinions and preferences.

The great thing is, with 25 characters we can afford to be picky! If the idea of playing without a shield bugs you then you can just avoid the Eldrid and not possibly lose access to your favorite playstyle (though why you would choose not to play Miko or Thorn is a mystery to me). Don’t like mecha then ignore Caldarius and see if one of the other 24 options interests you. Even if you decide that 20 characters don’t meet your requirements (yikes), that still leaves you with five options… and that’s before any potential dlc additions after launch!

Long post I know (sorry). Bottom line though, I’m right there with you with Reyna’s choice of firing pose; but the great thing is we have options. That’s one of the (many) reasons I’m excited about this game. Sure, I’ll try everyone out (including Reyna), but if something annoys me I can just move on to the next character. Nice and easy (especially since we can get a feel for all a character has to offer in just one mission/match thanks to the helix system rather than investing hours and hours only to find that you’re not enjoying them) .

Thanks for sharing the videos  !

I was sad at missing the “redbull” Twitch live interview and now I understand what everyone “meant” : this was hilarious.
Both videos are great, and AGAIN, now we’re seeing more characters I see my probable list of “mains” expands AGAIN :open_mouth: ! Several months ago I knew I’d play Miko, since a few weeks I now know Orendi is going to be one of my, if not the, favorite… And today I see Mellka I go like “Nnnghhhaaaa…” : so many choices, and have we even seen half of them yet ?

Oh dear oh dear…

BUT, that is to say the feature I found hard to adhere with is now beginning to sink in : the whole leveling from start to end at each mission. I knew I’d be reluctant to it since I like the RPG thing of growing/building a character from lvl 1 to 70ish, but like right now it seems I’m “seeing the light”

All I have to say is: I really hope this game won’t end up being a mess, I’m personally kinda afraid it will considering the ACM debacle.

That said, if the game ends up being great, I already know who I’ll be maining.

Looks like Randy had a big day before this interview. He is less… explosive. Hah.
It’s kinda weird to see him so calm.
