And Ambra doesn’t need to aim
What’s with all the Ambra is UP talks?
I only played with her after she got nerfed, and have only done brilliantly with her, in both PvE and PvP. She is great at finishing off players and providing healing for the team.
That’s something that @jythri could answer better than I can in terms of specifics, but I can tell you that we can make simple adjustments in hot fixes, but anything that requires more complicated stuff (including but not limited to geometry changes, UI changes, etc.) needs more intensive work and testing and therefore has to be included in a full-on update.
Is this out already? Are the hotfixes usually released the day they’re announced?
True - but a root or a snare let a melee close the gap without taking away total control. If I’m snared, rooted, inverted, pinned, or fenced, I may not be able to escape, but I do have the ability to turn around and smack back. If I’m stunned, especially chain-stunned, there is no risk to attacking me.
Yes, it is. The new hotfix goes out via the servers a few hours after the Battleplan is posted, which is at the same time every Thursday (check the first post in this thread for your local time.)
I think they need to stop pretending that she is in any way designed as a functional healer.
Her whole design encourages aggressive play which is counter to any healer I have personally ever seen.
Just do away with the healing and the silly stack building.
Make her a crowd control as she was clearly designed.
Make her health, speed, hitbox etc inline with the other Eldrid attackers like mellka and thorn.
Fix her cool downs so she is not throwing waves every sixish seconds later in the game. That lowering your cool down abilities by ATTACKING is almost comical
Now you have another eldrid that still performs her CC function
People really need to stop complaining about alani. She isn’t anywhere near as bad as when ambra and galilea were considered gods. She’s like taking on a priest in any other class based game. You just have to know what you’re doing. Go play her and get to know her so you can actually have a better idea of what to do when facing her instead of filling up the forums with constant bitching about her. Everybodies real concern should be the massive player base loss. And a lot of it is because of whiney ass people who can’t deal with a new character they don’t want to take any time to learn about.
Yes! Hot fixes usually go live about 2pm Gearbox time (Central US).
I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I thought it was just somekind of unintended synergy among abilities.
Seriously, think about that. They made a character built around gaining health by taking the opponents health away…ON PURPOSE.
i can see that this is a futile effort. i’ll tell you what. would you be willing to take several screenshots of your match history? not the actual details of each match, but just the overview page that allows to see only what character you played.
and secondly, what type of evidence would be sufficient for you to prove that alani out heals reyna and ambra combined? idk what type of alani players you play with, but the one i play with heals for just under a thousand, to over a thousand every few seconds if there are waves or enemies, or buildables, or anything at all in incursion. and that is not an exaggeration. i am more than willing to provide as many screenshots as you want.
what type of evidence would be sufficient for you to acknowledge that alani is out surviving ambra in an astronomically higher amount? ambra gets a flameshield every 60 seconds. but she still gets slowed through it, even with the movement speed she goes right down. alani simply hops back and self heals for half health. im actually kind of surprised that you brought ambra into the conversation. she barely heals anything at all. barely does any dmg. she is just kind of there. alani is the strongest character in the game. reyna needs someone else around to be able to just shield, while alani can heal someone to full health every few seconds.
Gearbox has their own time zone. That’s badass xD
If Bruce Willis can have BWT Gearbox can have GBXT
Yep, and E and I are badass enough to live in it.
I’m also in GBXT and that is where all the worlds best cheese comes from
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I see what you did there.
Alani ideally shouldn’t be self-healing because it’s only half efficiency. If we’re talking about self healing then Ambra easily wins. Alani can’t get full Osmosis every 4-5 seconds of the match, only every 4-5 seconds she is engaging enemies, which is nowhere near 100% of the time.
It also ignores how difficult it is to actually heal your intended target with Alani. No matter how good you are, you will accidentally heal a minion in teamfights. Sunspots don’t have that problem. Alani has no shield and no flameshield to protect her. Ambra is better at surviving without question.
If we’re talking single target healing, Alani can theoretically heal more as long as she has a constant stream of enemies to attack, but when multiple teammates need heals, Sunspots totally dominate because of the HoT.
Single target healing//CC = Alani wins.
Survivability/team healing = Ambra wins.
I’ve tested this, so there is no evidence that could convince me of that. Alani can single target heal for more than Ambra under 2 conditions: 1) she doesn’t heal a mob by accident (which happens a lot) 2) she has enemies to attack constantly.
But for multi-target healing, Sunspots outheal Alani with the HoT. If we’re being conservative, standing in 2 Sunspots from a level 9 Ambra heals for about 100 HP/second. That’s very conservative since you don’t maximize healing per second by standing in it, but rather by walking into it, getting the HoT, and walking out… the HP/second is much higher if you do it that way.
Nevertheless, Alani heals for a theoretical maximum of 238 HP/second healing from Wellspring at the same level (9), assuming she does nothing other than attack enemies and Wellspring as soon as she gets 3 stacks. So comparing Alani’s maximum throughput to a conservative Ambra throughput, they’re about even when Ambra heals 2 targets and Ambra easily wins when healing at least 3 targets.
In practice, Ambra has it easier. When you’re forced to retreat or simply don’t have anything to attack, Ambra can drop Sunspots and continue healing, no problem. Alani is reduced to the gimped minimum heal from Wellspring and whatever healing options she chose from the Helix.
So the claim that Alani outheals Ambra a hundred fold is just flat out wrong. Math doesn’t lie. Under ideal circumstances for Alani, she can heal for about twice as much as Ambra. In any scenario with no enemies to hit, Ambra outheals her by up to maybe 5-6 times.
I’d like to apologize for all the people crying about Alani being OP. That’s my bad, guys. I’m really sorry. I’ve been wrecking everyone all week. It’s not that she is OP, I’m just that good. I’ll switch to Kelvin so they can cry about him and leave Alani out of it
