How about fixing login issues and address the server overload problem.

Thank you for the post. I originally figured that certain issues required priority, and I didn’t know what classified necessary fixes. This helps.

I don’t often post in any forums, but I did feel the need to chime in here. I know that it will require a lot of work to fix sizing issues in co-op at this point, and this may be a minor issue for some people, but it is unfortunately not so minor for others.

I bought Battleborn based upon the enjoyable co-op experienced in the Borderlands series with my girlfriend. The primary intent was to play co-op in Battleborn - but as it stands, on a 55" LED TV, co-op is quite literally headache inducing. The eyestrain is unbearable with the small text and after a couple of rounds we both have to quit. We’ve tried moving much closer to the screen, but that presents problems of its own, and even still the text is ridiculously small. I should mention that neither of us have had this issue with a console game before, in Borderlands or otherwise; in other words, I don’t believe it to be a vision problem on our end.

While I do understand there are many other issues that need addressing, please keep in mind that some people bought this expressly for co-op. What is most frustrating of all is that we both love the game - we just can’t actually play it for any length of time without getting real world headaches. I hope you do indeed take the time to find some sort of large text alternative. Thanks for listening!

On consoles, they are looking at the issues and they are working on it. He stated that it is an “extremely expensive” to work on split screen (by expensive, he means there’s a lot of fiddly code stuff with re-positioning HUD features, etc.) It’s labor intensive, dozens and dozens of elements across three platforms. They’re working on seeing what they can fix immediately with a micro patch, and weighing the time it would take to crank out major split screen fixes against implementing ranked mode. He didn’t say that they won’t get it done, but it’s a matter of where best to allocate programming resources.

I’m with you man. I’m sticking with it, but it’s annoying enough that if another similar game had better split screen I might start playing that instead. I like GBx and I want to play BB but the experience has to improve… If someone else improves on this kind of experience I’ll want to try that out… I’d like to see them improve BB… Then I’d def stick with it. Those words are TINY though. For realz.

I just want to add my voice to the chorus re: split screen co-op. Having a big black bar that takes up ~1/4 of the screen is absurd; having a big black bar that takes up ~1/4 of the screen and no way to do anything about it is, frankly, such awful UI design I’m honestly baffled anyone at Gearbox somehow thought it was a good idea. I really don’t understand why the minimap doesn’t just work the same as it did in the Borderlands games; I never heard of anyone having any problems with the UI in those. Granted, this is my first time posting to the forums because, up to now, you folks have always knocked it out of the park, so I’ve been too busy playing the game to bother with coming here beyond the occasional Google search for how to complete a challenge or something.

I have read something about maintaining aspect ratios in online multiplayer having something to do with it, which… to be frank, this is just one more in the legion of reasons always online, or anything that looks vaguely like it in dim light, is a horrible idea. My buddy and I only play local co-op on private; we shouldn’t even need to deal with servers in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong, the game itself is fun as hell one one clears all the hurdles, but there are quite a few hurdles to clear and, near as I can tell, none of them should even be there in the first place. I expect better of Gearbox because you folks have repeatedly proven you can do better. I only hope you prove it again by listening to all the feedback you’re getting and cleaning up the local co-op experience.

…that came out sounding a lot more self-important and preachy than I meant it to. Balls.

Well said friend. Can I second this exact sentiment?!

In no special order

Proper skin and not the same recolor for everyone or at least a master skin
Fix the fact that you can’t repick or go back without leaving even while you have time left…
A map when the characters actually fit in or bigger hallways
Proper matchmaking
Pve mission selection and no some random stuff over and over
A way to report the quitters before the game flops …
More skins.

If I were to drop my own two cents into the game, there’s one change I think could be warranted:

The Sentinel: The initial pit area of “The Sentinel” story mission, when you have a full group of five (no matter the difficulty), can be extremely punishing given all the majors on the field. It makes no sense for their to be so many given that you’re just starting the match. While the obvious decision would be either to snipe from the starting ledge (which not every character can do), or just hunker down in one area and hope for the best. It’s not to say that it can’t be done, but it seems like it’s an absurd spike in difficulty compared to later portions of the mission that are well balanced. This partially applies to The Archive as well, to some extent. I imagine if you look at the numbers for the first 5-7 minutes of “The Sentinel,” you’d find that there are likely a large number of lives lost when compared to other story mission; when playing with a full group.

Completely agree. That first area of the Sentinel that’s full of thralls is very unbalanced. The rest of the mission is a breeze in comparison

How about Rath’s extremely overpowered special. He knocks you into the air and activates the special for a instant kill. Not to mention he is hitting you mid air and his blades are not even touching you. Thats just horrible game design. How many other characters special can kill you at full shields none that I know of other than Rath’s

Jythri…Nice to hear that you hear us, but very frustrating too. You guys got BL 1 and 2 SO right, but this is a complete let down, especially for those of us that specifically follow gearbox and their games for the couch play co-op. There are not many games out there that offer functionality and enjoyment of an ingame experience along with the Co-Op. I was on the closed and open beta and the game was great, except for the large annoying unnecessary space taken up on 1/3rd of the screen by dead space. It really, and not to be dramatic, ruins the experience. What a shame.

A Master Skin should definitely be added for all characters. Maybe for completing the old Lore Challenges, but honestly they were pretty bad and I’d rather see something new.

I think the problem with Raths ULT is not the ULT or the knock-up, but the Juggling. This should definitely be changed. If you drop on a character you should forcefully slide down, not jump back up!
