Battleborn has gotten the Honest Trailer treatment xD

Bastion is so pathetic. No one died to him after the first few hours of play. He’s a noobtrap

Ever seen a good Tracer? They’re amazing to have on your team, and a bitch to play against.

Wonder if they could implement that as a skin…

“Ever seen a good tracer?”

I consider myself to BE one so yes.

I actually think that Overwatch has another advantage and that is that everyone and their dogs are going to at least try it. It’s also a Blizzard game (which means high quality standards) in a different genre from their usual (it’s not a loot-RPG like Diablo, it’s not an RTS like Star/Warcraft, and it’s not another MMO like WoW). Also, their characters are about a few dozen times more appealing (they are all basically pretty, if you look at them) than most of what Battleborn has (we have 2 guys that look basically the same and 3 ladies with the same punk-spike dyed haircut).

With that said, I don’t think it’s going to make much of a dent in the Battleborn population because it’s not the same kind of multiplayer shooter. They will simply appeal to different players, with some overlapping. It has ‘heroes’ and skills but that’s about it. Don’t think it has any loot collection and the closest mode in BB to OW is the Capture the Point mode.
I’ll star to worry when Blizzard adds PvE.

…What is this supposed to mean?

Plus “unique heroes” lol what?

Right now another problem I have is aside from tracer the overwatch characters are so…generic and bland. I mean granted that’s in comparison to the incredibly unique battleborn so not quite fair.

I think 2K handles the marketing just like with Evolve. I hate to say it but I can already see BattleBorn sharing Evolves fate. Only Evovle had over 20k players at launch and BB had 12. (PC/steamcharts)

Tried to get a game with a friend just now,we waited around 10 minutes for 3 other people then another 10 for the enemy team until someone of our team got fed up with it and left so we were back at square one and just decided to quit.

From my experience on the Evolve forums, if this keeps going like that in 3 months we’ll have a bunch of fanboys defending a 1k peak player base and the developers acting like it’s all fine. Only I got 400 hours out of Evolve before the playerbase started dying, I have 122 hours clocked in BB and it’s already hard to find a match at times.

Please GBX,take it seriously and learn from the fiasco that your publisher(2K) effed in the A(Evolve). This needs super, super, super serious work, especially with a bunch of other “hero shooters” coming out (some of them F2P).

Hard to be upset @ 122 hours, though, is it?

But yeah, poor Evolve. I didn’t purchase it, and nor did many of my friends after we saw their DLC model. Wildly unfair. 15$ for a new monster, 7.50$ for a new Hunter. 140$ worth of DLC before the game even released. 2K games saying they saw it as a “platform for DLC”

How can you be a good Tracer? If the game is random and requires no skill and is just a total mess, how can one be good at a character?

Depends on the scale mate. 122 hours isn’t what I expect form a Multiplayer only title. I have 340 hours in Rainbow Six Siege where I get into a game in 3 minutes or less. Over 400 hours in L4D and L4D2. Around 1000 hours in LoL(and I stopped playing a good 4 years ago), 600 hours in Diablo 3, 600 hours in Path of Exile,400 hours in Payday 2 and I still play most of these games.

So no it’s not [quote=“mkilbride2599, post:28, topic:1463026”]

122 hours is very little for me,especially considering the fact that a big portion of it is 10 to 20 minute wait times.

I just checked my stats

I have 80 matches with ISIC,33 with Ambra,26 with Miko,27 with Kleese and 9 with Kelvin.217 matches played total.

and the game says I have 65 hours in-game. That means that almost HALF of my steam-clocked time I spent in lobbies, and I don’t wait around - I read lore/manage items while in matchmaking. All other games I mentioned were games that I just jumped in and got a match immediately,so I’d be surprised if even 1/5 of the playtime I have with them was spent on waiting.

So again,122 hours is not satisfactory because I barely got some playtime from 5 out of 25 characters and as it turns out it was actually only 65 hours(which is horrifying come to think of it that I gave the game so much credit that I spent half of my “playtime” in it waiting in lobbies)

Mm. A buck an hour, a little less. It’s not to bad then. Regardless, the game still has content to come…playerbase isn’t going away over night.

I have trouble bitching about any game that I get 40+ hours out of, myself.

this is EXACTLY what people have been saying on Evolve forums. Triple A title for a triple A price + DLC/season pass that has a playerbase of a few hundred and a standard wait time on any mode of over an hour.

also,I think me listing my other game playtime would put into perspective how little I got out of BB so far.

I have 40+ hours in every single player INDIE game I own(and I own a lot of them),heck,I have 97 hours in ADventure Capitalist which is a free, mindless clicker.

That’s you. That’s your opinion.

I’ve gotten a few hundred hours out of some indie games that cost me 10-15$. I’ve put 44 hours into Borderlands 2, with all it’s DLC. Don’t think it was a bad deal to me.

Jeez this thread has become an overwatch thread…

a)yeah,it is and I never stated otherwise
b) I have no idea how is that relevant to anything at all.

anyway I’m done with this thread as it feels like SOMEONE is trying to push HIS opinion and make it more relevant than mine because it’s HIS opinion lol.

Peace.

Your fanboyism is so unfathomly cringy that I want to punch my self in the face

Because I blitz around killing everything but tracer likely dies from stray fire more than anyone actually trying to aim at her lol.

As I said everyone in the game dies near instantly. Theres not much in the way of “skill”. Its mostly a clusterpuck and sheer luck if someone else doesnt get you.

Its still fun to dash around with her though.

Just not full price game fun.

Seriously, why talk about overwatch?!.. this is the battleborn forum. And why the hell does such an overwatch fanboy hang around a forum of a game he doesn’t own and never will?
If you want to talk about overwatch and praise it, then head over to overwatch forums… or atleast offtopic.
Stop wasting your time here… and ours, since we play battleborn and only talk about battleborn in general discussion.

Fanboyism?

I like both games. I’m just noting how very few of the overwatch characters actually stand out. Tracer stands out for her personality and powers but aside from that the cast is stuff like

Standard knight
Standard crazy explosives guy
Moe Asian girl (though her ice wall is cool)
Token cold sniper
Mad max raider
Shield buff character
Two gunslingers (one a straight Clint Eastwood copy)

Most you get is like…symmetra and the jetpack girl who kinda stand out. I never tried the gorilla so I can’t comment on him.

Just giving credit where its due that battleborns characters really stand out. Compare the snipers.

Overwatch - widow maker. Spider themed regular sniper with a grappling hook to get up to perch points. Gun is both sniper and assault rifle.

Battle born -Marquis. Psychotic stuffy German robot who can summon laser spewing owl scouts and control time to slow enemies or speed himself up. Gun is both a sniper rifle and small pistol.

There’s just no contest lo. Battle born has overwatch beat hands down for unique characters.
