I’ve noticed that for local co-op there is no way for my friend to choose who they want to play as. I can choose mine but they always have to go with random no matter what and always end up with Oscar Mike…how can they choose because local co-op was my main reason for buying the game since we loved borderlands and topped every character in it.
Have your friend play the prologue. This will begin inlocking characyers for them. Freaked me and my wife out when we started till we figured it out.

Yah have them do it from there account. No psn required for prologue, and works even if you have digital copy
I have tried this but it says they need to have the license to the product. How can the second account play it? It says too many people in party when both players are logged in and the second player cannot log in by themselves.

Thanks, it worked for me as well. Just have your friend sign into a pan account , do the prologue on your account then go back to the title screen and let them go back into the game then they can do the prologue as well.
