Battleborn Marketplace Update

Just hope last minute adjustments means today, cuz I must have it. =D

GG marketing team. Game is offically ■■■■■■
Playerbase had a massive drop. 800 avg is the 24 hour peak on PC…
Microtransactions would be absolutely fine if the skins were also available throught lootpacks…you know, like we were promised :rage:
I love this game. Over 200 hours into it. This is heartbreaking stuff

They didn’t promise that the post-launch skins will be free, they said that there will be cosmetics MTs so there isn’t any broken promise actually.

For those who care, here are what all the skins look like (all in link, only one in preview).

Well f*ck me. I really wanted that Orendi skin. Kinda sad I can’t get it now… But whatever.
Thanks Obama.

@JoeKGBX I wrote a post about this issue here. If we must have microtransactions, and if they must be linked and advertised in the game itself, PLEASE keep them discreet. That means keep them in the marketplace tab. Nowhere else. Having my ‘appearance’ tab also list purchasable skins is truly terrible. If you want them to be previewable, let them be in the marketplace itself.

Advertising your paid skins and taunts in this way (and yes, they look very shiny, well done) seriously impacts my enjoyment of this highly enjoyable game, and my feeling that I own this game, and want to play it. To put premium content in loadouts themselves is very low indeed, and I would imagine confirms most people’s worst thoughts about the move to implement microtransactions. This needs to be changed, and as soon as possible.

Whiskey Foxtrot does the Apache in his premium taunt…YES

Still cant decide if I like the Deande skin. On one hand I like the face tattoo and the color of her coat thing but on the other hand I don’t like her hair and the red seems kind of weird with the blue.

So Miko doesn’t get anything?

it’s just delayed by a few hours it seems.

Honestly, I don’t see why it is pushing people away. It is for skins, taunts, loadout pages, and blank pages to hold items. None of which hurt the game any. Have faith in the developers to deliver their promises. If you want to spend the money, you can. No one says you have to buy the skins. The market place is there for people who want to stand out, not get ahead or have an unfair advantage.

You’re the man/woman/dog!

Thanks for the link!

I do feel very let down that my $80 deluxe edition preorder does not give me at least a little platinum. Especially since the deluxe edition went half price just a few weeks after launch. That’s a lot of money for one game, then to have skins be as expensive as they are with the current platinum worth…

For a dad to be and BIG FAN of Battleborn, I hate I’ll miss out simply because my money needs to go elsewhere, and my initial investment wasn’t enough.

Yes they could have AT LEAST done that indeed. Giving some “pocket money” to DDE holders.
Although, I’m still convinced that the game is losing a lots of playtime from players by not allowing players to farm them ingame.

Micro transactions

Dudes, you guys promised no microtransactions. You said that all updates are available through in game. Please create a way to get platinum without dollars. Make it super hard, I don’t care. I was able to save up the 47500 credits to get alani. I can do a hard challenge.

Also, please fix the bought faction packs problem. I keep buying the rogue pack, and only get gear. Other people have had the problem with at least jennerit packs.

Please create more missions. Since the “battle may never end” as Deande said in the ending, make after missions, hunting down rendains supporters, defending territories.

Please take us to new worlds. I want to go to the detritus ring, and the other planets in the solus system.

An idea I had that I would like: I thought that once you complete all lore, you got a mission. It would be cool to do so, for instance, Shayne and aurox. Once completing all lore challenges, we could see Shayne finding aurox, or the two of them escaping a darkening planet and stealing a ship to the detritus ring. Orendi could have a mission where she escapes the arcship noctoo on the bizymandias. Caldarius could have a mission where you escape tempest to bliss. I think it would be cool, and completing these characters missions can be how you earn platinum.

As most people want, more maps. For the multiplayer, such as taking us to the other planets.

Don’t do microtransactions. I get you need to make money, but come on. You promised no microtransactions. Stick to your promise please.

Not picking a fight just explaining.
For me, I’m pissed because they promised all things can be unlocked through in game currency. It’s annoying to have them going back on their word, even if it is for skins and taunts, which it is already hard to get through the loot packs that have horrible taunt/skin drop rates.
People could be worried they will spread this to other forms of purchase, like maps and characters. I don’t want to have to but the 31st hero with platinum.

The thing that I really liked about battleborn is that I got the impression that this would never be a thing. I’m very dissapointed that it lost the one thing that really set it apart in my eyes. Esspecially considering that the cost of the new battleborn seem to be rather high for the in game currency

Sorry, but the swear-filter exists for a reason. Write “beeep” or “f**k” if you have to, but don´t sneak arround it.

I understand you are not trying to pick a fight, and neither am I. To be fair, they did say in their March 16th vision that only the first five new characters would be free. There would be other free content and that there would be some paid content (the five content packs) that would be $5 a piece that would come with the first season pass. So the microtransactions do make sense in my mind. The 31st character could be paid for with real money (Like in Evolve) or through another season pass which could include more content.

I know that it is hard to get all of the taunts, but it keeps you playing to get the in game currency and even to master more characters.

For reference here is the release article that I found most of my info from:

They said that there will be cosmetic MTs so you are wrong about it.
