Battleborn Marketplace Update

That is weird the last few nights I’ve had really quick queues and have seen a lot of low level players in the game which makes me really happy to see some fresh blood coming into the game.

Maybe it’s regional (I’m in Europe)? My matchmaking was rather slow at the weekend, even for story missions I often couldn’t get a full team. Weird.
I agree on the low levels though. Saw many of them

There is a better than average chance they recently relaxed ELO matchmaking. I’ve had 30 second to a minute queues for days now (PS4). The players I’m up against are almost always lower CR.

I think they were always there, we just couldn’t see them because of strict ELO.

From what I can tell, they never had a working ELO system. But whatever they had, it does look like they turned it off.

All I can say about that, is that there was a point about two weeks ago, that I would get matched against nothing but incredibly difficult players, the same 20 of them.

For some perspective, I have a 60+% win ratio and a KD above 2, so I suspect I’m an above-average player.

Since the change, my games have been…easier.

Not sure if that means that their ELO system worked or not, but something definitely shifted.

Also any update on Miko’s skin? Is it coming sometime this week or what?
I don’t feel so entitled, greedy, and inconsiderate as to expect that the developers are still working on the game to give me more than what I paid for because it’s somehow their obligation to perform charity work. The 20% more characters for free, frequent balancing, and bug genocide is more than what I paid for, and I am very grateful for this charity work.
[…]
self-centered feedback that they’re selflessly analyzing in an attempt to perform more charity work
Stop it, please.

This is not a charity. They promised these things and these promises affected players’ decision to buy the game. This is a part of the deal, not a bit a charity.

The skin was so awesome the artists responsible died of a heart attack. If you were to but look at this skin your head would surely explode if you really want to glimpse it though.

I’m not trying to be a part of this trust conversation lol I was simply defending that person before he was attacked. All I read from your post was:

“Your opinion is that you don’t trust a company fully. You and he saying that other people should not trust them is the part that can be wrong.”

I never said people shouldn’t trust 2K or Gearbox. im sure all said was that I don’t trust any company fully. Companies are businesses and in the end theyre out to make profit.

I don’t care what else you put as I wasn’t making this a trust debate but rather a correction on your views of how opinions work.

His opinion isn’t right to you but to them (him/her/it) it is. That was the point I was trying to make.

That person FEELS 2K (whom we corrected from Gearbox) is untrustworthy due to their previous and recent actions. Whether you disagree or not, that’s your opinion. His is otherwise. That’s the point.

Some people trust Square Enix to do a fantastic job in the FF7 remake but im sitting over here sweating bullets because in MY opinion they cannot be trusted, especially since they’ve already announced some stupid changes for the game.

Again, wasn’t trying to have a conversation about this but it’s annoying when people act like you are wrong when you’re discussing your individual opinion, regardless if you’re telling others not to trust them: you’re only remark to that is “hey I feel otherwise” not “you’re wrong”.

Btw. If she/he had said “the earth is flat” it would’ve been another story. That can be disproven with facts. But you can’t claim a company is factually trustworthy. It’s not possible.

Advice make a ranked version of incursion where we can earn these platinum currency at like 30 per Match so we can grind by our own free will.

There, I’ve compiled and isolated the subject matter for simplicity. “Company” is a general term that includes 2K and Gearbox.

That to me seems silly. Why would someone spend money on a premium currency, when they could just grind it out? That would be like using the in game credits you earn after a match to buy the skins themselves. The point is that the marketplace would be set as a different portion of the game where people could buy skins for their favorite character. Having it being a “ranked” version of any type of PvP doesn’t make it better for you to earn premium credit as well. That is like paying you to play the game. They already have competitions for video games. Try to get it into one of those so you can win money for the skins. That makes more sense to me than to give you “free” platinum for playing the game.

This is ridiculous and incredibly aggravating, im so sick of spending $60+ on a game and them having a paid curency and thinking its okay just because it doesnt “effect” game play. Are you being serious!? NOT ONLY ARE EVERY SKIN THE GAME COMES WITH VANILLA VARIATIONS OF THE SAME SKINS AND ARE ENTIRELY DEVOID OF ANY CHARACTER BUT NOW THAT YOU FINALLY ADD SKINS WITH THAT GEARBOX PERSONALITY, I HAVE TO PAY YOU MORE FOR THEM!!! Didn’t I already pay $60 for your game? Didn’t I already buy your season pass? NOW YOU WANT MORE MONEY FROM ME FOR SKINS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME FROM THE START! No offence to whom ever thought this was a good idea but its not. Sure you will make money but you are pissing off people (like myself) who love gearbox. I honestly thought you were better then this. Thank you for ruining battleborne and gearbox for me and everyone else that is upset by this.

I agree with everything about this post except the “trying to keep quiet” part. That part is no doubt some unfortunate side effect of the nobility of the author, and the irritatingly fair perspective that it is possible that the person who made this decision was just a regular person making a bad decision, rather than a corporate human analog in a suit with all the heart of an adding machine.

Woah, the option to buy fancy clothing is not that overbearing. Sure, paying real money is required to have the skins, but having the skins is not required to play the advertised game, nor are you being forced to buy them. It’s not like MGS where buying a bush to wear enhances your stealth within foliage. I’m thankful I didn’t attend a school that required me to not only look like everybody else, but also possibly lame/ugly. I couldn’t even imagine attending a school prom in some school uniform. Would you rather these skins not exist at all?

You already got what you were told you’d be paying for (excluding season pass ordeal) before this paid currency was even announced. This is something additional, so of course it shouldn’t be included within the promised content priced at $60. Even balancing updates aren’t justifiably an obligation. Bug/glitch fixes, yes. All these additions and concept modifications, no.

I’m with you too. I’m done with gearbox and battleborne as of now. Unless they remove platinum from the game. Im so sick of paid curency in full retail games, it unacceptable especially when these skins should have been in the game from the start. At the very least they should be earned with in game credits and not with real money.

I doubt 2K, the publisher and most likely the ones behind the decision, will allow them to remove the Platinum from the game so…yeah.
Hopefully somehow they do allow us to buy the Marketplace skins and taunts with credits or implement a way to farm Platinum

A game developer is OBLIGATED to stand behind their product and make sure that the game is proberly tested and balanced before the games release. That fact that there are balancing issuse in the 1st place means they didn’t test the game to the level they should. Have you never played a gearbox game? Are you new to their style? THERE IS NOTHING VANILLA ABOUT IT! So tell me why after putting countless hours on a character am I rewarded with the same un-original unaltered skin that reuses the same color palate that every other character has? Gear box games have never been de-void of character so why is alright for them to charge more money for content that we were promised that finally has that gearbox feel and standard of quality I have come to expect and paid for? IT’S NOT!!! ITS A CHEAP PLOY TO MAKE MONEY AND IT DISTANCES GAMERS. PAID CURRENCY IS A WAY TO SQUEEZE MORE MONEY OUT OF GAMERS FOR CONTENT THAT SHOULD EITHER BE IN THE GAME TO START OR INCLUDED IN THE DLC THAT IS TO COME.
